Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

What triggers work on a 30-06 Husky 1640 ser#168###? tried searching in this thread didn't find a definitive answer

Some say Timney no longer makes one
Some say a Timney featherweight might work
Huber trigger $150+18 shipping US + duty+ tax = too much
No answers from Timney and WGP said ask a gunsmith none in my area

Any other options?

Having tried and used the Huber concepts trigger, I wouldn’t try one again. Nice once set up but a bit of a pain (understatement) to set it properly. I’d look elsewhere next time. Actually I just settled with having a heavier trigger and knowing where it breaks. Still better than the Huber.

1600 series Husky I restocked for my wife with an old herters semi inlet. 6.5x55 caliber action bedded and ebony forend tip added. ATTACH]732597[/ATTACH]

Looking for some help to identify this rifle! It's a Husqvarna chambered in .270. Can someone tell me what model it is and what year it's from? I've started looking into it but finding conflicting information. SN is 120680

Timney don't make the Tradewinds-HVA trigger since around 40 years.
You still can find NOS, but they become more and more hard to find.
You can use the Timney #301 with side safety but you will have to carve the stock.

It's either a Model 640 or a "1951 Hi-Power" from Tradewinds. Only way to tell apart is by the sling swivel loops, which seems to have been replaced here. The YOM is correct.

Looks just like my 1952, only less um...experienced than mine.

My 640 in 8x57. Has a bushnell elite 3200 2-7x32 on it but I'm trying to convince myself that I dont need to buy a 1-4x26 with illuminated dot reticle...

You don’t need to change. I have used the same 2-7 Elite on a 9.3X62 for several years, and never wished I had anything different.

Carry it on 2X all the time. The last bear taken with it was about 30 yards, and that power was perfect at that range.

When I do need it for 300 yards, there’s plenty of time to turn up the power. Most important, there’s less than half a minute change in trajectory between 2 and 7 power.

Nice outfit you have there.

Ted

I've got an old Tasco 1.5-6 on my 9.3 x 62. It is all you need and the look is classic. The original side mount allows for quick removal and reinstallation, and is repeatable. It is high enough that you can still use the irons with the scope in place.

I love this rifle. :)
