Second this. Any plans for a shipment of the American gen 2?

American gen 2 is over rated if you ask me. Better stock and a fluted barrel that I’m not a fan of. What I want is a Ruger American ranch in 223 with an 18” stainless barrel, decent factory aperture sights and black polymer stock.,5 or 10 round ar mags. The proprietary Ruger hunting rifle mags are the weak heel. Doesn’t look like they have what I want in the new lineup so I plan to have one built. That would be the ultimate brush gun for southern areas that don’t have moose bear or elk

I haven't done much research. But the CZ600 seems like a close competitor. I know one local guy with one, and another guy with the other - both in 223.

Unfortunetly in Canada you cannot legally cut a barrel less than 18in. But you can install a new barrel that is 12.5in, and rifle will remain non-restricted as long as it meets OAL requirement of 26in. Either a prefit or have a gunsmith spin up a new barrel.
