I’m fairly certain I’ve figured out what this is, but I would appreciate a positive identification, as well as a fair market price.

EDIT: It's a 26" barrel in .308 Win.

Sorry for upside downs. For some inane reason uploading via iPhone does that routinely.

Thanks all.

Looks to be a Remington 700 PSS with the old style detachable magazine. HS Precision stock with the dual sling studs points to that along with the heavy barrel. Not too many were made with the Remington magazines, most were standard flood plates.

FWIW I have had what I believe to be a 700P with a serial number that starts G626 that looked identical except it did not have detachable magazine.

So what’s the big difference between the PSS and the LTR, the mag and the non fluted barrel?

OP,
Open the action to ascertain if there is the lack of cartridge feed rails in the receiver.
If no feed rails exist, the action will always be a DBM platform to function properly.

"D" prefix serial numbered receiver is late 80's early 90's vintage.

The month & year of the barrel manufacture is validated by the barrel code stamping letters.
Barrel code stamping of C H
First letter-"C" is month of April
Second letter-"H" is year of 1987

I had a Remington 700 Police I purchased about 1992,short action 308 26" heavy barrel, HS Precision stock , matte finish ,end flap on box was marked "700 Police". The model the op posted IIRC is called a 700P DM . The LTR version came a little later I believe. There was a complete system with factory mounted and bore sighted Leupold scope matte finish 3.5-10x40 with target knobs ,duplex crosshairs, Leupold mounts and Harris bipod in a hard case that they offered was called the TWS for Tactical Weapons System. The OPs rifle is identical to the one i had except for the detachable mag.

It's definitely a dedicated DM rifle. No feed rails like my other 700s.

I kinda want to duplicate that setup, or something similar. It's a comfy rifle and the trigger is very good, as would be expected. It has a 40x trigger with adjustments on the front.

It doesn't show in my pictures, but the bedding is somewhat off-center, with a larger gap on one side of the barrel, and less on the other. Anything that can be done to correct this?

What do y'all think it's worth currently? I got it for a decent price, but it's hard to nail down what a current and air market value is.

I had one of the Rem700P-DM rifles when they first came out.
IIRC, I paid $899.99 for it new.
Ordered it with 2 extra magazines.

It served my well through many years of Provincial "Sniper" matches.

All that remains today is the receiver which I had trued.
Currently sports an IBI MTU contour barrel and sits in a KRG Bravo stock.
