Thought I would share this. I left this gun with CJO following the 2023 Oshawa Classic (heard some rumblings about 2024 plans already).
Anyway, here's the one before picture I had.

Not at all what I had asked him to do, but Claudio figured these screws just weren't up to the standards of the gun so he made new ones! That is the kind of surprise that I love to get.

We are froze up out west but the bay is full of ducks,if we get a break and it turns mild should be a wild finish...
 
I fund my gun addiction with odd jobs......like snow clearing. Did 17 homes yesterday and today (including my own). About 10 hours total. The wind is a b#tch, great when it's helping the snowblower but a PIA when the site isn't working with the wind. But the colder temps are great. Snow blows quite nicely when it's properly cold. I hate the wet crap.

And to add to those rumblings John mentioned, a tentative date of Saturday June 1 has been targeted for the 8th Annual Upper Canada Double Gun Classic. Still need to confirm with the club. Long term we are trying to standardize the date as the first Saturday in June.

That is a nice little surprise, John. I got one a few months ago from Mr Chris Dawe. Sent him a gun to have the wood slightly altered (Monet Carlo comb removed and a refinish) and got back that work very nicely done plus some corrections to the chequering on the forend (apparently not centred properly) and a very nice horn insert added to the forend tip.

I understated by quite a bit the outstanding work CJO did on the Parker. The gun was just very slightly off face (I thought) but he discovered the lockup was slightly off and probably from the the day it was made with the locking bolt not fitting exactly in its channel. He rectified those two issues and now the gun closes with a very reassuring final click. From the photos you can see he also polished and blued the trigger guard bow and tang. I suspect once that was done he thought the old screws looked comparatively tired and made the decision to make, time, and engrave two new screws. Thanks Claudio!
 
Not bad in NS. I’ll be breaking out my Pre 1913 LC Smith for a little coyote and bunny hunting Saturday I think. If it stays as mild as it has been, this couple cm skiff of snow will be melted off. It’s been a mild open winter here on the Atlantic.
 
It's been about 2 weeks since the last outing of sighting in a rifle. It's be too cold for shooting from the bench. Nicer days down the road will be the time for more volleying...

I thought about stopping by your club for a round or 2 but with over 300lbs of dog on my legs and hips I wasn't going anywhere
I did find some time for online shopping for a nice takedown gun case but didn't make any add to cart clicks
