Which is better the 30-40 Krag or the 303 Brit? Personally my vote goes to the 30-40 as it was sold in more rifles, including the 1895 Winchester, but so was the 303 Brit. But what do i know, I'm just a Yank. :D Les

Damn the whole 24hourcampfire is coming north. How's it going?

What do you think of our own little forum?

Hell, i've been a member here for quite awhile, I love it here, some damn fine folks here. Got some knowledge I just can't get from below the border. Plus, my wife ever leaves me, I'm heading to the NWT. :D

This is just "my" opinion, but being Canadian, if I never hear of the .303 Brit again, it won't be soon enough . The 30-40 Krag, now that sounds like it has "cool" factor. :)

.30-40 and .303 are peas in a pod. An advantage of the .30-40 nowadays is the wide variety of quality .30 bullets that can be used. Selection for .303 is pretty limited.

Aren't the 30-40 and 303 pretty much ballistically the same. I don't think i would honestly feel undergunned with either. But would much prefer the old Krag rifle over the Enfield, as the Enfield doesn't lock like a real bolt action. :D

Maybe 30-40 Krag is plentiful where you are, but if you want to use it for hunting, and need to pick up a box of ammo from the store, you will have a better chance of finding the 303 Br than 30-40 Krag. Especially if you go to the NT.

Hence why I have my handy dandy little lee handloader, then all I need is Bullets Powder and primers. MadDog knows me better though, he knows I'll go be bear food with my trusty 303 Savage. :D

You gotta realise Les that this is Canada and about 75% of the 28000 members here all either had or have an Enfield in the closet. My dad got his at Kmart or Sentry years before I was born for $40. I restocked it for him with a tupperware stock and a scope before he passed away. Funniest thing I'd ever seen, him tearing that scope off after missing a deer with it, 5 shots worth. I walked into the camp and he was steaming, told me to get those peep sights back on it before the night hunt or he was goin back home.

Thats funny, as my Dad has 2 M1 Garands, basically our version of the enfield for all intents and purposes. I sure do like the Peeps on those though. At least he didn't try to brain ya with the scope. :D
