Question on Kel-tec Sub 2000

For sure. Mine is Ruger as well. But sub2000 appeals to me for being light weight, foldable and easy to carry in back pack if required. And really quick to deploy.

My Ruger has back pack stock. I kept in back pack from rifle case but still little heavy and not quick to deploy in my opinion.

These are the exact reasons I moved on from my Ruger to the Sub 2000(and the TNW ASR). There is no question it is the more quality built gun though, at least compared to the Keltec, I think the ASR is a well built gun for sure.

Hi guys!

I just bought a gen2 and I was reading the manual. In cleaning section they say wipe outer metal parts with oiled rug. With my shotguns i wipe the barrels from end to end but this sub2000 has the hand guard so i cannot reach under it,shouldnt I wipe outside of the barrel if I should how am.i suppose to reach under the hand guard?any help would be greatly appreciated

It's all parkerised under the forend. Same is true for the glossy barrels and the fully parkerised barrels. If you look towards the end of the forend, underneath you'll see a small change in the finish.
So don't worry about oiling the exterior of the barrel, it's well protected from the elements. Same for the chamber rim, unless you choose to polish it.

And, if the oiled rug is too big try an oiled rag!

Tha k you very much for the answer I am relieved. And yes using a rag makes more sense i will give rag a try :D

I read that some Keltec Sub 2000 may broke in half because of the cheap plastic used on this carbine.

I heard that there was something to the composition of the early light coloured polymer compound that made them weaker.
The black ones are strongest.
Also, flicking them open like some immature street thug doesn't help either.

Agreed: The early alternate colours had occasional problems with the composite. KelTec took care of the affected owners, and they fixed the issue (just like they always do).

Also agreed: The KelTec Sub2000 is the cheapest, lightest and most compact American-made PCC. It's amazing how many people expect there shouldn't be a corresponding compromise to ruggedness. You can't get blood from a stone.
