Not sure if I'll be buying one. The rifle does finally bring torx head screws to the game, but that trigger (while light) does not impress me. The removable tube is different, but with the cross bolt safety, I say too many lawyers got into the design. Might make an odd collectable 60 years from now though?

I think this lever will be more popular when it comes out in 45-70... & Sweet Bejesus! While that limited model has some beautiful wood & finish the MSRP is scary as heck once you converted it to the northern peso...

No amount of "wood & bluing" is worth that much,(over double the price of the non wood model).

Its a 44mag sized action. Highly unlikely they'll be able to fit 45-70. 454 cassull is the biggest I'd expect to see.

And they only have two models, plastic/stainless for $1300usd, and fancy ass wood/blued for $3500!!! Blows my mind they aren't releasing a wood model thats a bit more money than the plastic one, I feel like THAT is the model most guys who covet lever guns would want. Like really, who wants a lever gun with a plastic stock and a safety?...

I figure if S&W see's a return on this model it won't be long till we see the variants. Buddy all but said it in the second video, so I'm not stating anything new...

I'll be looking forward to seeing some range reports on this rifle... Is it going to be a sub 2 moa lever gun? I think I already know that answer LOL!

They said they picked 44mag so they have flexibility, but there is big difference between adding more options and somehow cramming a 2.5"+ cartridge into an action designed for 1.6".

I think they have a bigger receiver in the works..? Or maybe just on paper? And do agree that the wood model will be more desirable.

Lmao. These fools want more for their wood/blue 44 magnum lever action than a custom BHA

Wow. 3500 American for an unproven rifle from a company that’s never made a lever action? Lmao.

For those of you saying the BHA were too expensive this is hilarious.

That smith and Wes will sell for 5k minimum in Canada. That’s a grand more than you can find a BHA

It's a collectors edition with high grade wood...

I like the idea of a stainless level with a synthetic stock and point to attach a flashlight that isn't too tacticool.

Wish it had a straight grip.

I am going to take a wild guess and say they chose the 44 mag because of its historical association with S&W. Here's hoping they make a variant in their own 500 S&W in the future

Now that would be interesting.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did come out with the 500 S&W. Still not sure I'd be interested in it... I guess tactical lever actions are a thing now? If you can't own an AR in a particular state, I'm still not sure this would be my second option LOL!.

I'll probably end up with one of the stainless-synthetic models. They look pretty rad. It'll be interesting to see how they expand on this line over the next few years. I hope it works out for them. The market is there. Let's see if they can knock it out of the park. Fingers crossed for this one. Lotsa potential here.

I'd be more interested in a mag fed lever, like the new henry supreme, but in 44 mag. But I will be watching the S&W. Canadian sites are already posting it at $1859.99 retail, so it is up there in $$. That supreme in 5.56 might be the one I end up with first tho.

It's basically a Henry with a cross bolt safety. Looks like a nice lever gun. I was a little confused by the name 1854. I felt like they made a mistake and meant to call it the 1894 but they named it after the 1854 Smith & Wesson lever pistol.
