CZ Bren 2 MS Drop-In Barrel Parts Question...

wow...called about this a few weeks ago and you made it seem like inwas asking about a left handed wrench.

We have a looong standing request to NOT call or email about stuff that is not in stock yet. If you read our post of the parts or product here on CGN and it does not have a link to the product on our website or news explicitly saying it's 'Go Time !' then we are still waiting, just like you. Calling the shop and making me halt production to answer the phone and tell you the same thing I have already written here is ....painful. Sorry.

Once I have more info on these or actually get the samples, inshallah, I will take pics and post them here with the update. Until then please be patient and once there is news you will all hear it at the same time. This is how we keep it a level playing field for all customers from coast to shining coast.

Everything we get in that is limited or unique, like these parts, we post here on our web forum at CGN. This is SOP.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle !

Any chance those of who have already used dlask for a rebarrel on a Bren could get a heads up email before it gets posted for sale to the masses?

I’d hate to miss out if there’s only a small number of these kits coming in initially

No, sorry brother, we open sales for everyone at the same time. Also, that would be a nightmare as we have converted well over 500+ rifles for both ourselves as well as many other retailers and figuring out who bought what from whom is not going to happen. Don't worry though, if it happens then we will have more than enough to help everyone, it won't be that we just get a few in.

Sounds about right. Read my post 101 above. That was me brushing off someone that doesn't think I was serious about our 'Please do not call or email' request and is trying to get in line before other people that are waiting patiently.

Not sure how you are 'confused'. But in case you are here it is again :

Please do not call us to ask about these. Please do not email us to ask about these. When we have confirmation that the product is in the mail and on their way to us I will post here. Once the product has arrived, been inspected and I have listed them on the website I will announce it here on CGN along with a link to them on our website and from there it's open season for everyone that would like a set.

Hope that makes it clear for yourself and others.

I'm 101 friend

your a business offering products and services. I wasn't calling to jump line. I was inquiring about a product /service I was told you offered. if your to busy to answer phones, don't answer phones. have a recorded answering service redirect the caller to CGN forums. choose something better than "halting production " and getting all pissy about it.Pretty outlandish to think people may be calling a business for information ey ?

cheers Leigh

Question for you, Leigh:

When switching a barrel, or placing an older one in a new gas system/trunion set, is there a particular way to drift the pins or must I heat the surrounding areas first?

Cheers!

We do not give gunsmithing advice. If you are asking that question then you are not qualified to do something as serious as what you are attempting. (No offence meant, just don't want to lead you on into thinking you can do this at home.) This is a job for a machinist or qualified gunsmith with a machine shop.

I’ve seen guys on YouTube pull/push barrels out of trunnions and gas blocks on similar type rifle systems…holy is it scary or entertaining like a non fatal car accident. Definitely far from a DIY project if you are not a competent machinist like Leigh just said.

Fair enough, although I am no stranger to doing my own work. I was only curious as the last time I had to remove a jungle carbine flash hider, it required the pins to be drifted in one direction.

...After thoroughly heating the flash hider due to the British method of allowing the cooling flash hider to shrink around the barrel to ensure wartime retention.

Looking at my gas block I can see there is a slight concave mark where I presume it was removed struck initially.

Naturally, ocd leads to such interests.

Cheers!

PS would a bottle of vodka change your mind?

No offence to this great service or idea..

But how does this help anyone with a NR converted gun at all?
Sure we can make a shorty barrel.. but we can’t use it without another receiver that is restricted.

Nobody is going to convert ther NR receiver back to R

Am I missing something, is there more to this project coming down the road?
I’m highly interested but this isn’t adding up to my primitive brain..
