A Custom Model 70

My 5 day ban find. In 270 Winchester. Custom stock and 24” custom barrel. Savage axis cheap. Hope it shoots that well.

Nice rifle…..CRF as well, hard not to like that package, something about the warmth of a wood stocked rifle and a 270 Winchester…..kind of made for each other.

It’s a Beuhler windage and elevation adjustable mount for use when scopes didn’t have internal adjustment.

Nice find, R.P.! I prefer the longer barrels on the 270 Win. Gun show in Lethbridge on February 17th & 18th. I'll be present, searching for a nice rifle or side by side shotgun. Might see you there!

I've always wanted to hunt those big whitetails however I live in the wrong place for that. I did get a smaller 3x3 in southern BC last season. Nice buck Track.

That m70 looks like Ron Propp’s work.

Could be. The barrel is stamped GWPF 041 on the right side. 270 Win on the left.

Great looking gun. It’s a 270 so will more than likely be very accurate! Glad to see your back and just in the penalty box. Been there too

Nice Rifle, My favorite hunting rifles are Winchester M70's.
Your rifle is especially nice to me because it is also a Pre64 M70, they are my favorites and the hardest to find now (at a reasonable price).

My son and I have killed many many big bucks. With all the diversity of animals we have in Alberta, the mature whitetail buck is our favorite to hunt.
