Gopher hunting? Anyone...?

Where are good places to hunt gopher and how to get in contact with local land owners?
I don't mind traveling to other province(s) and I'm sure, somebody out there would be happy to invite a hunter (or two) to his land.
Anyone has informations about the "Gopher Tournament"? Where is it and when?

I'm not sure about other provinces, but "hunting gophers" in Saskatchewan is not allowed!!!!!:p:p Shooting gophers, however, IS the thing to do......:welcome::welcome:

The term" hunting gophers" has the same effect as carrying a "I am a city slicker" placard. Ahhhh, just kidding.......:rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
I'm trying to 'pave' the way myself.;) I bought a new toy for that purpose, a custom 219 DW built on a Winchester high wall action. To pave the way I'm giving my son in the B.C. interior my Ruger #1 in 22-250 so we can go hunting, opps, shooting Gophers.:D:sniper:

Each out of province shooter is required to pay a $500 "user fee" to Alberta GunNutz who will Guide for them. Having trophy gopher heads mounted and shipped back to your home province is a further $500 for each trophy.
Y'all can line up to pay me...no pushing or shoving

In all seriousness I will be going out with 5-7 others on a gopher blast this spring. I am only one of the shooters and not an organizer or planner. So I cannot tell people they can join up.
We are taking a long weekend and each of us will be booking an extra day off to extend the holiday.
I personally will be taking at least 10,000 rnds of .22HP with my two .22 semis w/ hi-cap mags. As well as my .204 with 350 shells and maybe my 12 ga. with about 400-500 shells for it.

:eek: I go 'huntin" gophers all the time... Gosh, I'm a metrosexual :eek: NOT
 
The area around Makota and Hazenmore in Southern Saskatchewan has been very over-run with gophers for the last couple years. Some farmers were actually giving out free 22 shells to anyone that would shoot on their land. It is my understanding that the gopher tournament is held down in that general area.
