Glock 17 gen 5 firing pin protruding, any certified Glock armourer in the GTA?

Had my glock since 2021 and have put maybe 300 rounds through it.
I clean and inspect it quite regularly and when re-assembling the slide to the frame, when i rack it all the way back, I notice the firing pin sticking out and “free floating” (when barrel is facing down, pin is visible, when muzzle is facing up, pin goes back in). I have never seen this happen before and I’m quite certain this is the first time I’m seeing this in 3 years.

- is there a glock certified armourer in the GTA that I can have inspect and possibly repair?
- also when chambering a dummy round, the sling shot method works. When I try to release the slide slowly and control the slide until it goes int battery, the dummy round does not get caught by the extractor anymore and tilts downwards into the chamber and FTF
- when I rack the slide back and try to extract the round, the extractor does not seem to pick it up so FTE

Glock is completely stock and while I realize the dummy rounds are much lighter, these observations have never happened before.

There’s a ramp in gen 5 glock’s trigger housing that presses onto the firing pin safety, allowing the firing pin to free float. This helps prevent firing pin drag on the primer.

The FTE on the dummy is probably because your dummy round’s rim is worn, try a brass case and see if it functions.

Thanks, but weirdly enough maybe I just never noticed the free floating firing pin for the last 3 years.
Just so I know I didn’t break anything which I know it’s rare, do you know who deals with warranty and repairs in Canada?

Post some pics of the shiny broken metal parts, warranty in Canada means your gun will likely be gone for 6 months to a year.
Should be pretty clear where the firing pin and extractor are broken.

Have you had a malfunction of the firearm in actual use with live ammo?

Your FTF and FTE scenario is something the owners manual tells you not to do or malfunctions can happen.

Put 1 drop of oil between the connector and trigger bar. Years ago I had an issue with trigger reset and the problem ended up being insufficient lubrication in that area. The firing pin should not be protruding when chambering which could be from it not resetting when you rack it.

post#2 is correct, its supposed to do that. riding the slide forward causes malfunctions on most pistols, follow the loading procedure from the manual.

Here are some pics. This is the FTF when I try to chamber a round slowly.

The solution to the problem that occurs when chambering a round slowly is .... DON'T DO THAT.

Handguns don't cycle slowly, they are not supposed to cycle slowly, pretty much every manufacturer on earth will tell you to let the slide drop unimpeded. Why would you do that? Why would you think there is a problem with the gun when you are functioning it in a manner it is not designed for?

Alright I’ll try that! Thanks. It’s just so weird to have the firing pin sticking out. Im afraid it’ll slam fire

Glocks, like most modern pistols, are specifically designed to make a slam fire essentially impossible. Glocks are specifically designed to ensure the firing pin cannot hit the primer unless the trigger is pulled.

Im also thinking of maybe replacing the firing pin safety plunger… maybe it’s not resetting and blocking the firing pin as it should?

Don't screw with something that is not broken. There is nothing wrong with your pistol ... LEAVE IT ALONE.

Ditto. Operating them wrong then wondering why they are operating wrong.

Warranty is handled quickly and expediently by either AMCHAR Canada or Rampart both who have factory trained armorers and advanced armorers on staff.
