I do love the odd balls. Got a Swamp Angel coming my way. Now, what to feed it? I still have a 195 grain .385 diameter HB mold from Old West out of the states. Could likely adapt a few bullets from it to work. Would likely need to get the weight down a bit, maybe just knock the HB skirt off of a few. Turn the bottom down a touch to create an heeled bullet. I think I have a .40 RB mold somewhere...I cant see the the RB to stay when it recoil.
Thoughts on the matter?
I should post this right into BP forum, but could start here.
Thanks

Looks like it's just you and me Evan... a 2 man wolf pack with Swamp angels.
I'm thinking we ought to start a thread in BP anyhow. You better start it though. I'm not home for another week or 9 days.
You are gonna want to show off anyhow.

Edit, make it fun. We get one going in BP... tell everyone you sanded it down with steel wool... gonna re blue it with apple juice. Get them really going.

The problem I encountered with using reloadable casings for rimfires is that the primer is sitting too far out, so you can't cycle it anymore. Be aware of that when going that route.

To shoot my Rem. Double Derringer I bought cases from Dixie which have a hole in the head end
for a blank cartridge , over to one side to reach the FP. I use a Hornady #6025 , .40 cal. ( .395 ")
round lead ball. Then fill with FFFG powder
NOTE : the firing pin usually hits & ignites the blank cartridge but not allways. Placing the .41 cart.
in the chamber correctly is important.

I have a mold that produces 41 heeled bullets for 41 rimfire. they fit in the HC reloadable brass. I have a bunch of them made up if anyone is interested. Canada post also has free shipping tues going on...you can in box me if interested.
if you go on youtube you can see me making 41 rimfire and firing my pistol.

I bought a 22 reloading kit while back, comes with a tool to remove..or help remove the dent from the primer strike. Works well, also bought the compound for the primer mix...so I don't have to cut up matches..everything is reloadable...as long as the case didn't get a hole in it from the primer strike..
Cheers

The Swamp Angel was a heavy gun used at the siege of Petersburg during the US Civil War. Forehand and Wadsworth used the name for one of their revolvers. The F&W Swamp Angel is a compact single action spur trigger revolver. Unlike many spur triggers, they are solid well made pieces. While .41 short rimfire isn't exactly a powerhouse, a .41 Swamp Angel is serious compared to many of the .32RFs of the period.

Here is a .41RF Swamp Angel along with a .32RF S&W Model 1 1/2.
Both have shiny bores and chambers and crisp actions. I would consider these to be better quality revolvers than the average spur trigger pieces.

41 cal was under 500 fps..if I remember correctly. I remember people talking.." well it just as slow as a pellet gun" so it does fall under the firearm act...NOT TRUE!
