Off to the range tomorrow with the new 6.5 PRC and the 7-6.5 PRCW, make for a good comparison day !

6.5 PRC built on a Defiance AnTi XM action, Defiance Bottom metal and mag box kit, 24 inch #2 Fluted 1-8 twist 5R Benchmark barrel, Triggertech Special Trigger, Manners Ultra carbon Classic Stock with Matte finish, Talleys holding a Zeiss V4 4-16x44 scope, total scoped weight 7lbs 2.4oz

We didn't GunKote it yet as I may have a Wildcat stock installed so will want to pick out a colour scheme.

Wowsers...that's a BEAUT !! I just got into 6.5 PRC...not as fancy as you mind you, but this Tikka I got is an amazing shooter ! I'll be lookin for your comparison write-up for sure !

I went with the same ammo you have for starters..HDY Match and Precision Hunter...LOVES em both !! I'm waiting for decent weather for my second round of load testing. I settled on 129 gr Accubonds for my deer hunting load...got some 143 ELDX's sitting in the box waitin to explode...lol So far with my H1000...near max load has given me my best results... 0.32 @ 100 yds with 99% case filled

Very nice numbers. A very nice build! Cannot wait to get my 6.5 PRC back to the range!

Did you find any pressure issues on the top end ? Or was it smooth sailing all the way through.

Thank you all for the kind words, I am really happy with this build.

Surprisingly no pressure signs, but that was with new Lapua Brass so I’m going to run some of the upper charges with resized brass before I’m a believer
But wow was it consistent, a lot of those groups were shot out of a pretty hot barrel as well.

Very nice! The 6.5 PRC is an awesome round. Im not the biggest Hornady fan in the world, but I do think they got it right with the PRC line up. The numbers don't lie.

Wow ! That rifle really puts them in there ! Nice shooting WF ;) RJ

BUCKY maybe some people are just a little BORED with some of the OLD CARTRIDGES ! and want some New Spice in there life ! :d LoL. Nothing wrong with that Bud ! RJ

I like them all! But prefer the old school. After all, I did just build a stainless 300 Savage for my whitetail stand gun ;)

Another nice gun.
The 6.5 PRC is very similar to a 270 win, but fancy. Some guys need to be fancy.

Thank you,

Yes very similar in performance to the 270, a deer will never know the difference when shot with bullets from either cartridge,

I’ve just had great success with all the PRC cartridges, it’s what I started hand loading with mostly so I guess I’m just comfortable with the new PRC cartridges, I just stick with what I know best is all.
