Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

"Weaver style bases" usually come with the Surplus/Husky scrap rifles. Moldy scopes, offset drill/tap. Cooked out stocks... But hey them are cheap !

By the time you have something descent buy a new rifle with warranty.

LOL; most of them are better than about all of the new "value priced" rifles available today. If you have to have new and shiny, then have at it. Most of those rifles are still shooting as good as new rifles and they are already older than the expected life span of most new rifles.

Suit your self.

I think you're mixing stuff here... the early M98 and M94/94/38 were often D&T'd by individuals, not the 1640 / 1900.... And I also think that when one is looking for the barrel bottom, he gets what he wants to pay for. Seems you're one liking plastic stuff, but it's not what we're talking about in this thread, anyways.

What are the other Weaver bases that the 1600's use...dude in optics is asking and I'm lazy, I know I have a couple that came with not the standard M96 bases, #21 or #22 rings a bell?

The only combo that really works without shimming on the M94/96/38 is Weaver #46 front and #55 rear and it's also what fits the 1640 and 1900 and it also fits Small Ring Mauser 98.
Some say Mark X and Remington 798 (Zastava) are better fitted with #55 Rear and #20A Front but most use the standard #45 Rear and #46 Front combo.

Some are as you say, but i have made many purchases from both Tradeex and Intersurplus and I've been very happy with what I bought. They are getting thinned out now, so one has to be picky. A VG condition Husqvarna for less than $500 is far and away a better rifle than the crap coming out for similar and much more money.

Speaking of scope bases My recent purchase of a 1640 came with some with what looks like a removable mounting system I have no idea what make or brand they are of no use to me although I would be interested to find out more about them.

Goes double for me.

Well, I just threw in with you Husqy lot. I put down a deposit with Intersurplus on a scoped 1640 in 30-06. It's a beautiful rifle. When I get it in my hands, I'll post pics. Thank you to the OP for this fabulous thread.

^ You're not happy with your Howa you claimed to have purchased? Hence, the "deposit" ?

Oh no. I'm perfectly happy... even though it still hasn't arrived yet:D I wasn't home when UPS visited, so I have to wait till Monday. But in the meanwhile since I bought the Howa, I also bought a Savage 110 in .243 (ostensibly for my son), and now the Husky, just because it's so beautiful.

Does anyone know what weaver bases fit on a husqvarna 2001 (222) or krico rifle? The bases that came with it have a narrower width and seem more set for cz rings. I would like to find something in stock in Canada.

I have bought several Husky's all have been excellent shooters and built better than most modern rifles today, Here's a 1640 I bought from Intersurplus 30-06 with a pristine bore, fresh oil job and decelerator pad note the Weaver bases.

^^ Now, onto... Does it shoot as good as it looks ?

"Looking good" is in the eye of the beholder.

How it shoots is underlying to physiks, mechanics,... and skill. Keep us updated, pls.

underlying to physiks....... LOL

I went to the range during the warm weather tried Big game powder 52-59 Grns. 150 Speer BTSP best group 1 1/2" was at 58, 2900 Fps. next warm snap I'll get out and tighten that up

Every Husky I've had has been a good shooter this one is the same.

There is no Weaver bases that easily fit the Krico. There is a company in Germany called Innomount making them, so does Recknagel. Conetrol also makes the Daptar to fit the Krico. There must be other still making them, but I don't know.
If this can help, the action dimensions are the following;

Front ;
Hole Spacing 21.9mm / 0.86"
Radius 16.5mm / 0.65" ( diameter 1.3")

Rear;
Hole Spacing 12.7mm / 0.5"
Radius 15mm / 0.59" ( diameter 1.18")

Thickness difference; 1.5mm (0.059") = vertical height difference between front and rear rings

Hole Spacing (for a one piece base) ; 82.5mm / 3.25"

Those look like the Sako type bases that were around in the 70's, you will need the genuine old style Sako rings to fit them.
