List of new firearms awaiting classification

I wonder who submitted the Beretta PM12? Are they not all fully automatic? I want one now if I can get one in semi. I need details.

Pindad Industries (Indonesian Arms Manufacturer) is currently importing a semi-only version of the PM12 into the US as a "Pistol" without the plastic cladding on the Fore-Grip and no folding Buttstock. Presumably that and the one of the list are the same gun, complete with Indonesian manufacturing "quality". They also manufacture the FNC rifle under license and market it everywhere including the USA as indicated by SHOT Show 2024 coverage.

Thanks for the information. Hopefully if this makes it to Canada it will be with the folding stock and forgrip. Im surprised the Beretta M12 never made it onto the prohibition list back in 98 with the rest of them making this prohibited as a variant as well.

I would try out a Indonesian rifle. It couldn't be any worse then the American Auto Ordinance M1 carbine I had back in the day. That thing was nothing more then scrap metal from the start.

This list seems to be several months old.
The Tavor x95 MSW is listed there and it was classified prohib back in October 2023. So this list is probably from before that.

Safe to say unless the info was given to B-wing, it updated from roughly July 26th 2023.

Well there you go. Now I want one. Only issue will be a source of 9x39 ammo.

My assumption will be that if it comes in at all it will be the original importing retailer or one or two boutique or high end stores will carry the brass and dies with conversions or whole rifles. Then there is the issue of magazines, theyre not standard AK pattern. There might be an issue of 5 round magazines not existing

I imagine it will be x39 to not have to introduce a number of logistical issues, the price could easily approach 1.5-2x once you add in components and magazines compared to purchasing the same amount of ammo with an x39 platform.

I applied for the ATIP 20-DEC-2021 and just received it a few days ago. I assume there was a bit of lag time between when the RCMP lab provided the info and when the ATIP office released the info to me.

CBSA has info coming out about the ATIPs they have been working on have been lost or intentionally delayed.

It wouldnt be much of a stress to assume the other departments under the same minister could have the same issues if they are in any way involved.

I have many RCMP requests going on multiple years, it really is ridiculous.

There is a semi auto Beretta PMX aka the replacement of PM12. That will be an interesting item. In time the US will probably get it as a pistol.

I have seen the Pindad FNC in Australia. Interesting Item, but from that area I would rather have things made by Singapore which is a world class manufacturing, or even Chinese type 191.

I have first hand experience with disassembling the SAR21 - considering it is something from the late 90's it is pretty impressive. The pindad is crude in comparison.

As noted above, it's complete nonsense that it takes 5-6 years for a decision! It proves two things: one, they aren't anything close to 'experts' in their field, and two that they don't want to have any firearms available to Canadians

Look at those "received" dates. Does it take 3-5 years to make sure it cant go full auto without heavy mods, if thats what theyre pretending to do?
It’s takes 3-5 years to actually work . It’s not like they have quotas or deadlines or a boss pushing them to get stuff done , it’s not very important to get approvals or rejection so do 5 mins of work ,step out of the lab , chit chat with the guy in the office , go grab a snack , come back to the lab but now u need the pee so off to the bathroom , chit chat with the other guy on the way to the bathroom etc etc u get the point
