Hey guys,
I have the opportunity to buy a second-hand Ruger single-six stainless .22lr/22mag in mint condition. Once again, I'm a hurry (if I don't jump on it, It'll be sold within 24hrs) First of all, is it a good buy for a first revolver? (it wouldn't be my first restricted) How much is it worth brand new? How much should I pay? Cheers,

They are not a bad choice for a first handgun but the trigger pull is sometimes a little heavy and can benefit from a tune up by a good gunsmith.

Ooops--what I said would apply to a first revolver as well as a first handgun. Once the triggers are tuned up they can be quite accurate--this is also the case with the Ruger single action center fire revolvers--I shot a 10" 44 mag in silhouette revolver class for several years and it would do the job if I did.

44Bore.

I just sold one for 450. New they are around 550 plus tax.

Yeah, $400-$450. I have a blued one. It's as old as me, still a great gun in fantastic condition. I find it a pain to load & unload though. My next revolver will be DA/SA.

Just bought a barely used one yesterday, 380 from WSS. I doubt the 22lr cylinder has been used, and the 22wmr one appears to be maybe a couple hundred rounds. Josée seemed very excited to see me purchase her second gun for her. Half way through the purchase, her mommy had to take her to the ladies room for a new diaper. I will, of course ensure it remains in good working order, until she's old enough to use it ;)
