Tuna can is the tuner which is shown on the end of the barrel. Works great. Just clean it often as fouling will build up on the inside.

Whatever stock you choose, make sure it will fit the DBM and mag... proper fitting is really important for these set ups.

Enjoy

Jerry

Should have bought an Anschutz.

What are the advantages of a RIMX?

If anyone has brought a RimX to one of our shoots at 100/200 M., it never returned.

Mel

Foundation with Hawkins bottom metal works fine - The Rim X mags are in a class of their own and fully adjustable for correct feed height.

skwerl...Don't let anyone put you off enjoying that Rim X - I've owned a truckload of Anschutz and yes, my best shooter is a 1761 custom build but I currently own 3 Vudoos, a B14R and the Rim X - These 700 foot print rim fires have opened up a whole new 22LR world for me and I love them!

Is there a Zermatt importer in Canada? I need a Rim X action wrench - Can't find one in Aus and no one in the US wants to sell me one!

Hey Allan , I have the Hawkins Precision & as written earlier I shoot BR
and quite a traditionalist a deep bedded wood stock is my plan .

tho I've not shot a chassis

And my 1710 & 1717 are very secure in their station.

Just checked your link - Like most North American suppliers - Won't export!!!!!! You'd think I was trying to buy a "weapon" not a tool for my workshop!
The fact that you could have barrels spun up locally and fit them yourself was part of the Rim X attraction for me -= Guess I came unstuck on that one.
On the other hand, there are great folks like Brad at Nordic who have shipped parts to me on several occasions once I supply the approved import permits!

We have a tough go of it, us in the firearms community in Canada. But I'll readily admit that Australians have it much worse.

It is a little ridiculous to think an invisible line across a prescribed land mass would present such difficulty in acquiring the parts one desires. For all the 2A HooRaah of America, it's actually their export laws that are prohibitive vs. our own import legislation. What a juxtaposition when one considers the boot on our necks as firearms owners here in Canada, eh?

In any case, life is too short to be deterred from following one's passion's due to some naysayers. Shoot what you like, if it doesn't live up to expectations, analyze why and make a more informed decision going forward. Of course if we all had the time and the means we'd own one of everything R:d:

Every jurisdiction has it's own laws and regulations regarding the export or import of firearms and parts.

We have a tough go of it, us in the firearms community in Canada.

As a general question would Canadian shooters think it tougher if, as required in the US, when sending a firearm elsewhere -- to a buyer, perhaps -- they had to ship to a FFL (Federal Firearms Licence) holder rather than directly to the buyer or recipient?

When I had the RimX, I had it mounted in the XLR magnesium chassis. Was wonderful.

Why I moved on, because I was really wanting to convert it to the 17 wsm, and could not get the parts, more the barrel anywhere. After a few conversations with Go Big, I see that he started working on the kits, and barrels, but by then I had moved on. I may go back one day, just not ready yet as I'm working on other acquisitions now.

I specifically went the IBI barrels for my rimx because of the external barrel nut, like the savage use, as this negated the use of the overpriced barrel wrench, and getting a good barrel vise. A set of go, no go gauges, and a $10 ar style wrench let me play with the barrel at home with no excessively priced tools.

It was nice, but I now like my annie 1727 for my 22 lr fancy fix.

It's also unfortunate that IBI doesn't make .17cal barrels. I asked them for this when I was putting together a 17 hm2.

Hey Wallz

Your story probably mirrors other shooters at the highest level
once you hit the Anschutz , Rimx , Vudoo point it gets academic.
