I have been informed thet Bud has resigned as head of NROI for IPSC Canada,i personally hope that it is not a result of recent threads on this forum.Having run 2 Canadian Nationals with Bud serving as range master and being involved over the years i know how much work that he has done on behalf of IPSC .I would like to thank him for all the work he has done and hope all IPSC Canada will do the same .

Informed by who?

When?

Where??

Why??

Bud taught me my BB course back in 99 and I would HATE for him to have resigned over that thread!

Can anyone coberate this

this is a perfect opportunity for people like "arancio"(Hugh J) and AlexS to take over the day to day operations of IPSC Ontario and even the IPSC Canada and should I say the World. Good help us...

how long did he do the job for? Anytime I ever emailed him he was always very friendly... Ive only been a member for a few years so Im not sure if i ever met him or not..

if it's as a result of that thread I would be surprised and saddened. Either way he's done a helluva job for a number of years. He will be hard to replace.

Bud has been running NROI for the last ten years. On top on these duties he has been dedicating time to IPSC Ontario and running the IPSC Canada website.

Thank you Bud, for putting so much volunteer effort into the shooting sports.

Well it has now been confirmed.........

Bud put more time and energy into IPSC and NROI Canada than I think is humanly possible. I doubt that any single person can fill that position and do as good a job.

But on the bright side! With more time on his hands maybe Bud can make it out to see an EESA match! I have always wanted to show off our club to this man who I have the utmost respect for.

You bet! We will need good people to step up. People that can spell too, so I guess that precludes you then.

Swell.. and when I say swell it isn't a positive thing.

Bud did a ton for us... too bad not everyone saw it...Now, what?

From what I read of the First post ... he only stepped down from NROI... he's still is involved in IPSC Ontario....IPSC Canada website, Ontario Website... Ontario BOD... unless that changed too?

I hope you are right maxpig... I really only hope it was from NROI.. that could be easily dealt with... unfortunately, I don't think that is the case. Bud was/is instrumental to IPSC Ontario and NROI. I really hope he did not take the thread to heart BUT I fear that he may have... hell, I would have and I would have walked away due to ungrateful participants in our sport.

Perhaps I precipitated it by asking what we would do if he left. If that is the case, I apologize, it was far from my intent. I wish some of us would see that he was VERY important to the continued existence of IPSC Ontario.

what we would do if he left.
move on, no single person is greater then the organization. We may or may not need 2 people to take over his work, but if that's what's needed then so be it. If one person leaving is such an issue then we need to re-think the structure of our organization 'cause it's screwed up.
People quit, people die, people move on to other things, that's life, deal with it or fail.
How will the new NROI Prez get the Job? election by RO's or total membership, appointment from Section heads?

I'm pretty sure that when he leaves IPSC-Ont the sky won't fall and the timers will still work.

As already confirmed, Bud has resigned as president of NROI. He also asked to be relieved of running the IPSC Canada website. The NEC is aware of this and is working on finding people to take over (note that I did not say replace, as Bud is irreplaceable)

No, that nonsense in the other thread had nothing to do with his resignation. Had it and I would have refused the resignation. (Nonsense like that has taught me all about the "ignore user" feature here...it's very convenient.)

Bud's been president of NROI since I was thrust into the position of RD in '97. I appointed him and never regretted it once. IPSC Canada would not be annually ranked in the top 4 regions world wide without his fine work.

While the constitution states that the RD appoints the president of NROI, this time - I've asked the NEC to pick their choice and I will then formalize it. The leaning of the NEC is that this job is simply too big for one man to take on so it will likely be a committee in time.

It's my hope that Bud will continue to represent NROI through the section of Ontario and I hope that he takes the time he'll be relieved of and splits it between well-deserved rest and remaining involved in his section.

I have a lot more to say about this; many tales to tell of Bud's dedication to that position, (which is only a small part of his overall dedication to the shooting sports) but until I can put it together properly - this will be it for now.

Sean.
