Our big lakes are still not frozen. Crazy warm weather, so no ice fishing….

Moose backstrap wrapped in local bacon, oven roasted with local potatoes and carrots. Mint jelly to go with it. Everything but the spices and jelly came from the Yukon! (I did buy a jar of local mint jelly today, but I am a "finish one jar before opening another" kind of guy ��)

Smoked a bunch of arctic char last couple days! Turned out great!
It is tough living in the north…especially that I had to cover the smoker with double layer of moving blankets!!

But this makes up for it!

Its tough not living in the Yukon when your daughter sends you pictures of the big trout she caught (and released) this past weekend....

I believe it was at Ethel Lake. For scale reference, she is just over 6 feet tall.
