Hello CGN friends,

I am working on a new build.
Are there any custom high-end actions that are 100% same as Remington 700?
Not just footprint, but also compatible with the scope base.
Most cutom actions on the market have a full size main tube receiver.
Dont like R700, which is lower at the rear side.

Thanks!

Integral scope base is a nice alternative.

A 20 MOA ingrated rail was a "must have" when I planned out my F Class T/R build with a Defiance Action Elite.

It will be a "must have" on future F T/R builds along with using Long Action 700 footprint while keeping a 308 bolt face.

I have a chassis with full length top rail (receiver to forend) and only align with its own R700 scope base

Is it a cadex or something? If it was me shopping, I would opt for a different chassis because buying a custom action that accepts a standard rem700 base makes no sense. They may exist, but I've never heard of or seen one and that's probably for a reason

You are right my friend, it is an AI AX chassis and it only comes with R700 rail.

Yeah, I do have chassis and a 20MOA rail, it is just a R700 rail which does not work with my Tenacity action.
That is why I am looking for another possible alternative.

Seems like Definace used to have a model called Thinhorn which is identical as R700.
They produced a bench for Rocky Mountain Rifle.

Saw someone mention on another forum that you can order a Defiance action (Rebel, IIRC) that takes 700 top rails, but I can't confirm that.
Do Cadex actions take 700 bases? Worth giving them a call to see.

You could before. I'm not sure if things have changed with the new ownership. They got rid of some custom options. I purchased a CRF Rebel just before the sale and I had it specced for Rem 700 bases.

Thanks for the info.
We can do a custom order from Defiance in Canada?
They can directly ship to us?

I order in May 2022, got it 11 months after.

Mine was a CRF rebel with a three position safety it took longer than usual. You can find other common configurations in stock. I think Prophet River stocks defiance actions as well.

Thx a lot.
Already checked there, I did not find one which will take 700 scope base.

Now you make me doubt if that worth the waiting.
11 months.......!!!!!!
Maybe a blueprinted R700 will do the job with cheaper price and less lead time.
I recently got one from RDSC.
They are new production post Remington bankruptcy.
I have to say it is improved a lot.
Way less wiggling between the action and receiver.
