Rugers Gone Wrong

Maybe it’s just the RH models that were made on a Friday lol.

Just so you all don't think I'm biased against Ruger, here's a Grayboe Outlander Lightweight I have here that has the same bolt handle inletting.

I think this one is ugly as well.

That one is WAY worse... angled handle with perpendicular inletting... bad.... post a picture of your custom .275.

I agree. It's not good for a higher end custom stock.

As requested, the 275 bolt handle and inletting.

That's what you get with a straight bolt handle and custom fit stock and inletting... I'm heading to CT for some Bondo...

Anyone remember the NS 522 from canadaammo ?

I guess Ruger bought the last remaining stocks and phizerd them onto Rugers ?

Curious how you feel about this inletting for the bolt handle on a Sako Bavarian that jumped out at me from the Sako rifle thread...(?)

There ya go.... that is what I was talking about earlier... it does look better... good "after & before" pictures.

That is a big improvement.

Remington succeeded at making the ugliest bolt handle ever with that gun. Total disaster.

The Model Seven fixed a lot things that were wrong with the 600/660s. Nicer bolt and stock as well as replacing the plastic bottoms.

I had a quick look at the bolt and inletting on all my rifles and the one that looks the most pleasing to my eyes is a pre 64 M70. I haven't figured out how to do the picture thing, maybe someone could post a picture of an original pre 64 M70 just out of interest.
