Is the M4 worth it?

m4 is heavy i had 2 sold both, the 1301 is great,m2 is very light,if your going to go with m4 get the field stock not as heavy.

There is no comparable model to the M4 Entry from other manufacturers if you are mainly a range guy.

I Couldn't find any retailers stocking them, the NR is much much more popular. Target sports sold a few years ago so they are out there. For a new one you would either need to import or contact Stoeger Canada inquiring about 11722, 11723,11724 depending on which stock you like, 11726 if you want a threaded barrel.

Much appreciated for the comments everyone, currently away for work so going to try to get my hands on one or two when I’m home and who knows maybe take it home. Definitely leaning into it a lot more, always dreamed of one and most of the cons I’ve seen in here and other posts/threads aren’t a concern to me.

Maybe I’ll update in a few weeks/months with a picture of one.

Where abouts are you? You can play with mine if youre close to Petawawa

No doubt the Benelli M4 is a great shotgun , but the question is whether it is 3000 bucks great as there are lots of shotguns out there that will do the exact same job for a lot less cash . It really depends on how much of a volume shooter you are , and if it is worth having 3000 bucks tied up for a shotgun that may spend much of its time sitting in the safe ; and only gets used occasionally .

Short answer is "yes".... long answer is also "yes".

LOL

There are new M4's on the EE regularly for~$2300. Is one currently.

The M4 is the only true "to hell and back" swmi auto tactical shotgun

You won't be disappointed OP

As Grain said check EE there lots of NIB ones that come up in EE for 2000$ ish

You can always make more money and you only live once

Grab the M4 it was last a lifetime and you will never look back

$3k for the gun you want... or $2K to settle for something else... 1st option will be cheaper in the long run.

And while at it, why not get a Tac-Ord pimped a 3 1/2 inch Versmax (m4 clone)?

M4 is absolutely worth it, and it is not going to be replaced any time soon. USMC has no reason to replace an existing battle proven shotgun with an extensive history of success. There is no shotgun that can outdo the purpose built M4 for what it was meant to do.

I ended up buying one new today from Cabelas with a Vortex Crossfire.
Getting the warranty was worth the extra vs buying a “used” one.
Held a 1301 but couldn’t get away from the M4. Hoping to break it in this weekend.

One box of the cheapest 3" hunting shells you can find should do, rapid fire helps. Don't waste buckshot or slugs doing it, and 3" work better for that than high brass 2 3/4" anyway. My 2 cents. Great looking gun by the way!

Put around 30 rounds of some cheap slugs and also random target load I had kicking around… going to pick some more ammo up today and go out again Sunday.

Ran everything no problem, beyond smooth, still can’t stop smiling. Infact I brought my new Type 81 out to shoot for the first time as well and only put 4 rounds through it and then put it back in the truck and brought the M4 back out. lol

Only problem I had was I lost the lens cover for the new red dot, left it on my tunnel cover of my truck and in the excitement forgot to grab it before going home, not even butt hurt about it.

Ordered some parts from S&J Hardware (extended bolt handle, bigger bolt release, and tube extension) definitely doesn’t need them, it’s more than great out of the box but want a little easier use for wearing thicker winter gloves when the time comes. Looking at the Midwest industries MLOK hand guard as well lol

Awesome.
One good thing about going with the M4, if it isn't your thing they retain resale value really well and you can practically trade it for whatever you want. Get bored of the M4 or it's too heavy? Straight trade for a 1301 tactical.
Are the Turkish M-clones a great value and getting better? Absolutely!
Are the Turkish M-clones "just as goood"? Not a chance.

What are folks running for lights on their M4s?

I’ve just used knock offs for most of my civi rifles but the old surefires at work. Was looking at a Surefire Scout but my buddy recommended a Olight Odin GL M?
