Have an older VX 2, 4-12x, matte finish, which was missing the proper scope adjustment caps.. made an email inquiry to them asking if I could purchase a replacement set. Three days later I had a package in my mailbox from Korth group with the missing caps that I needed. The invoice inside said no charge. I know this is a small item, but it meant a lot to me was very impressed by their service and prompt handling, 2 thumbs up in my book. 👍👍

That's not uncommon. Korth is excellent.

Korth in Okotoks AB has had my “Leupold “ back for decades…..especially when it was ME who fzcked things up!

Peace Be The Journey!

Is Korth still good with repeat issues?
I just had a scope to them for repair, turns out it was just replaced with new due to issues.
I have a second scope with similar problems just two weeks later, almost feel guilty to send it in, I feel they went above and beyond the first time so don't want to feel like I'm exploiting the situation
Are they picky or just 'no question asked'

Reply to #6, I do believe they ask for what you consider what is wrong with it?

One can only imagine the paper work involved for the warranty repairs in and out.
Let them know that this scope still has problems.

ESP is not great on humanoids.

Korth sent me a set of caps for a used scope I bought at their booth at a Calgary show a few years back.

Aside from preferring Leupold, I use them mostly for the no hassle warranty and the excellent service by Korth.

p.s. I have never had a warranty issue with any of my Leupolds. :d

I am a die hard Leupold fan... have them on every rifle... Korth has been nothing but an absolute pleasure to deal with.

See for me it's the exact opposite. One guy at korth, worst customer service ever, for anything, in my life. At which point I sold everything leupold. I buy a used gun, the scope gets parted out instantly if it's leupold. Nothing against leupold, just never dealing with korth again...ever.

While I have almost used Leupold exclusively for over 40 years and over 500 scopes of various models. I sent a very nice Vari X II for service and last week and got back a brand new model scope that wasn't even close in class of the one I sent in. Called them to see what happened and it appears there are no more parts for older ie pre 2000 scopes depending on the model. This is vey disappointing as there are no sources for classic gloss scopes of unique model such as compact and such. This would also signal not to fall for older scopes for sale at inflated prices. If there is a problem with it it won't can't fixed, just replaced.

This is horribly too bad.
I would of thought Leupold would keep some sort of return inventory for the used parts.
One could only imagine the idea of getting rid of those old forever warrantied scopes.
Out with the old, in with the new.

I wonder if Trace Scope Repair would be able to fix these?
I'd sure forfit the warranty of Leupold on the chance of them replacing an old favorite with something new/different.

I'm sure not keen on the new power adjustment look.
The old smooth body sort to me look much more refined.

Such is life.

I just received a replacement scope from Korth this week.
The old VX-II 3-9x36 compact was suffering from an ocular lens de-lamination.
They called me after an email having received the scope 5 weeks earlier.
The scope was on the Brno FoxII in .22 Hornet and period correct too.
They called with the "there are no parts available" line and offered up two choices of which I went with a Freedom 3-9x33 efr for the Hornet.
Not complaining/ranting just my recent experience with on a life time warranty.
As mentioned by kamlooky , maybe a call to trace scope repair might be a option for those who need period correct accoutrements for their hunting kit ?
All in all though, Korth has been a pleasure to deal with, polite and receptive to phone calls with polite reception and call backs .

Korth is definetly top notch to deal with, in my case I sacrificed a 2-7x28 ultralight, they replaced it with a 3-9x40. Can't use it on the firearm the tiny ultralight came off, it is 5x too large.
More importantly though, I never shyed away from classic, non current Leupolds in the market place before because I knew Leupold had the resources to tune up or repair any of their line with the lifetime warranty. Not now, and anyone paying big bucks for a paperweight is a fool.
