ON Antlerless Draw Application

I normally post that the draw's open when I apply but this year I forgot (call it a senior moment). I've got my tag paid for and both my buddy and I hope we'll get antlerless tags. Good luck to all my fellow hunters.

Here in Central Ontario, antlerless tags seem to have been in short supply the last few years.
This has been a mild winter, I suspect mortality is down. Deer are regularly seen, look to be healthy. If the population is up, the number of antlerless tags should increase.
The turkeys seem to have done very well. A friend had 26 in his yard a couple of weeks ago.

Interesting hearing another province’s regulations. Here in NS currently it depends on the zone you are hunting which ### you can take. Zone I live in is buck or doe(anterless). Other zones are anterless only. No draw required for deer. Just buy your license and hunt any zone. Muzzleloader license allows one deer and regular season license allows one deer so you could get two deer. Good luck to everyone as one year we had buck only and with all the hunting I did I was getting worried come end of season, second to last day a found a six point.

The antlerless draws are zone specific here, buck tags are for the entire province.

Do you guys remember licenses being available this early in previous years???

They're essentially available for purchase before the fiscal year ends & that tells you something...

As with all government agencies...budgets blown and they gotta fund the end of year smoker somehow haha

I think it was just last year, but maybe 2 years ago they moved it from April 1st to March 1st. Not sure it matters much, at least not to me.

I haven't applied for an antlerless in a few years now because of poor deer population. How are the numbers in your areas gentleman?

Where in Brant are you? Here in the southern end there’s tons of deer as usual, hence the 100% success rates for drawing antler less tags for years and years.

Is this the earliest they’ve offered tags?

Down here I'm in 90B, Burford area, this area actually doesn't reach 100% success. I failed to draw about 4 years ago and one of our guys didn't draw this past year. But there certainly is a lot of deer here

However I was referring the rifle hunt up where my camp is. We have had lower numbers for the better part of a decade. Although I saw more last Dec than I have in a number of years.
