I always wonder if there's ever such a thing as having to many extra mags for your rifles ? I was buying extra mags 30 or more years ago when they were around $20 or so each back then. Prices have sure changed since then !
What have any of you people got in extras ?
Pic went sideways on me lol. All these are Winchester 88 or 100 mags

Nope, can't have too many mags or too many rounds.

This was most mine a few years ago before the house fire. Various pistol & 10/22 on the left, all Glock are 9mm in the middle, AR 5.56 on the right.

If some of your magazines have never seen a bullet and never will see a bullet, you have too many mags.

Having said that, if S really does HTF, then you are going to be happy that you were mag-crazy.

wow......

Ok hunting rifles I try to have 2 that fit each one

the Savage 10 and 110 rifles do have some interchangeability between calibers, the 22-250 / 243 / 308 all use the same mag, but finding mags is often a problem and price can be an issue, the Tikka 695 mags are pricy so 2 is it for that rifle.

I believe you should have as many as you like but advertising them with a rifle turns me off, especially pumps and semis.

"Round count unknown but appears low. Will include 4 extra mags and 6000 twice fired brass."

MK2750 - If that's the only rifle the mags fit, why no advert them ? The buyer might appreciate knowing, and one could always list them separately on the advert for $xx more. Personally I'd want them to go with the rifle so I don't have to EFF with selling mags separately.

I've got 5x 5-round and 3x 10-round to 'share' between my 2x CZs, about 12 for my 2x Sav-64s, 7 for my SKS, and 2-3 for each hunting rifle. I usually only use 1-2 of any at the range, just so my rifles can cool down while I reload.

If these were mine I would sell most of them and make a lot of money ... keep two for each rifle.

"Too Much" for mags, like ammo and other supplies, is the point where you no longer own your stuff but it owns you. If it holds you back and makes you stay put at home when everything else says it's time to pack the go-bags and get the hell out of Dodge, you've crossed into Too Much.

If you have more than you can chuck in the truck and can't make yourself leave it behind when it's time to evacuate, that's the line.

Quick answer to the OP’s question: no.
But really depends if you still own the rifles they fit.
Don’t own it = 1 is too many.
Own it = more the merrier.
Personally I like:
5 for my AR; 4 in use plus a spare (all numbered).
9+ for my pistol; 6 in use plus spares (all numbered).
Hunting rifles; 3 for each, 2 in use and one as a spare in case one gets lost.
No idea how desirable those magazines are but I have a sneaking suspicion that’s a few dollars.
