Without a doubt. In fact, just yesterday I took both my old 10/22 and my MK2-G out to my club. Shot mostly Blazer and some older Federal High Velocity rounds (circa 1990s). Nothing fancy. The Savage had much better groups than the 10/22.
For a rifle that I paid $200 for brand new in the early 2000s, it has been a pretty decent gun over the years. Taught two of my kids to shoot with it. Only thing I don't like is the occasional intolerance of the 10 round mags that I have to wiggle around while shooting to prevent a feed issue (5 round mags no issues), but that aside, the Savage has been a workhorse over the years. It doesn't look as nice as my 457, doesn't shoot as nice as my 457, but all things considered, the MK2 (at least mine, circa 2006 or so) has been a a fun shooter.
FVSR in a lefty would make me get a 3rd MkII...

Hardly a fair comparison. Semi vs Bolt. My mossberg 144 is more accurate than my 10/22. But only thing that is comparable is both are 22, both take mags, both are guns.
More fair be A22 vs 10/22.

I think it's a little overstated the degree to which a semi-auto action is at an accuracy disadvantage compared to a bolt action. It's not a significant difference for practical purposes, it's a small difference that is more accurately described as being a situation where a semi-auto action will never win serious benchrest competitions against custom bolt actions, because the bolts are just that hair better. The quality of the barrel is more determinative of the rifle's performance, the action only accounts for a small percentage. I think it's fair to say Savage generally makes better barrels than Ruger.

We are not talking about serious bench rest comps. Talking about a Savage mk2 and a 10/22. Work horse guns. And there are soo many models of each that a standard 1022 isn't gonna shoot better than the target model with the green mountian barrel. Standard model to the G model. Not standard model 1022 vs a Savage mk 2 fv.
My savage 64 TRSR wasn't as accurate as my 1022. So that barrel theory goes out the window.
Alternatively we could compare guns at similar price points... cheapest 10/22 vs a heavy barrel laminate stock mark II. Lol
In my experience a mark ii f is more accurate than a 10/22, but it's a sample size of one of each so hardly a conclusive result. The btvlss makes em both look bad though...

If that was the case a 80$ Cooey 75 would out shoot both.
All I'm stating is, you cannot compare a semi and bolt when it comes to accuracy. As it is proven that they don't shoot equal. The 1022s that do shoot well don't have factory barrels.
