New Chinese fiberglass sks

Mine is similar. I like how this batch didn’t have a speck of rust on it though. The latest French tickler batch has minor pitting in certain areas (although still damn clean for something made in the 70s)

the latest french tickler batch meaning last year in 2023 and not the year before in 2022?

Weird. Did you see that pitting with your own eyes on an out-of-the box "French Tickler"? My "French Tickler" is absolutely immaculate. No spec of rust anywhere. Bluing is superb. May be, someone was shooting corrosive and didn't clean properly and rust appeared? By comparison with the "Jungle Stock", the "French Tickler" looks hundred times better.

lol. you probably got the 2023 batch or you were lucky but the 2022 batch of french tickler had lots of rust (out of the box) and stock plugs, not pretty.

I ordered my "French Tickler" on Monday, September 12/2022 from Solely Outdoors. Yes, I have one small wooden plug, very nicely executed on the ridge of the stock. Practically invisible. Much better looking than that horrible stock on the "Jungle Stock" Type 56. This way or the other, I love this particular Type 56 "French Tickler".

I suppose some would frown on collecting sks's,but really they are the last affordable semi auto cold war relic out there...and collecting old junk is fun af...

Just to rub it in, Marstar sold an unfired Chinese SKS for $75 if you also bought the M305 for about $500 (maybe less) back in the day. Still have both.

I have 2 frp rifles so far,1 I call the redheaded stepson the other his ugly little sister,Both are awsome, love commie bakelite, rough around the edges but they work, great ATV carry,D

i bought two, they were $400 each. they sold out pretty quickly and the prices jumped to $500 immediately... sound familiar? hint hint T81, lol.

I remember the 90's when I bought a whole damn pallet of them LOL .... well 4 of us bought it to be fair.
came with a lot of free cases of ammo though.
I miss Allan Lever hehe

I remember Marstar also offered a free SKS if you bought a crate of 7.62 x39 around that time.

That's when I bought mine.... wish I would have bought a crate worth and a pallet of ammo. IIRC the crate of x39 was like $169/1400 rounds so you'd be like $250 for the whole package

I have one of those, and wanted a French Tickler to go with it. These rifles are like underdogs, not well liked by many, but very functional, simple to disassemble and maintain, and very effective for their intended use. I enjoy them for what they are. And they have gone up in price, from $75 back then to $500 now… What’s not to like?

I remember crates of 10 Russian SKS’s selling for $1400…… and I paid $75 for a nice used Chi-com only a few years ago. Czech surplus, 1100 rounds for $119, on stripper clips. I wish I hadn’t sold them all…….. Mike made me an offer that i could not refuse.
