7.62x51mm Stripper Clips info and examples needed

I'm still on the search of information, examples, photo's of the various M14, FAL, L1A1, AR10, BM59 etc 7.62x51mm stripper clips.

I'm also interested to hear from those owners that have original ammunition on clips as I need to compare some unknown examples to known clips that have ammunition on them.

Research to date has found there is approximately 3 versions of American clip. Unfortunately the US didn't put dates on their clips so the date the changes took place is a bit of a puzzle.

Known US markings:
A (small, medium and large sizes (5 variations at least)), A sideways (3 variations at least), A1, A3, AO, BGR, G.G.G, G.G.M., Lufkin, SEY (5 variations at least).

I've also heard of an A2 marked clip, dose anyone have an example or anything different to those above?

If you could have a close look at your stripper clips, you will be surprised at what you might find. If there's no marking on the back then it can sometimes be under the spring.

I prefer to trade for examples so I can then do a detailed study and measure of the clip and add it to the reference website I have.

I do, but they are all newer than the ones you are looking for. They are all the same, IVI 78 (I think). I'm at work right now, but I will look when I get home and post again.

Got them on a shoot back in my cadet days. As any person with CF experience can attest..."I have no live rounds,mis-fires or empty casings, Sir!"
However, the RO didn't have any objection to me taking home the empty wooden ammo case, and since the ammo was in clips, all the used clips as well, so I have a couple of hundred of them.

I keep them to use, not collect, and since I have so many, I would be happy to give you a couple if you want.

I am at home now, dug one out, I was right;

I doubt late '70s IVI is particularly rare, but if you would like a few, let me know.

Thanx for having a look, 70's dated clips don't come up too often, it's mainly 65 - 67 dated clips that seem to surface.

I wonder if any clips were made in 1984? It seems like clip production stopped in 1983 in both Australia and Canada as I haven't seen any clips dated later then that. In the UK the latest dated clip I've seen has been 1976 which seems very early.

You have stripper clips from the ol' Dominion Arms before they became IVI(then subsequently SNC TECH, etc = now GD)
 
Thank for looking through your clips, I do have examples of the -63, -65 and -67 marked clips. I would like to find out when in 1962 they stopped putting the month on the clips? For certain just the year was indicated from 1963 onwards and so far I've only seen clips dated 1-62 and 2-62, are there any later then this in 1962?
