All-New: Type 81M

You must be happy with the nice crooked rifle. If not happy then you must be you have to be some on here will tell you. or your eyes are lying to you.
Some folks on here immature ones think its perfectly fine. the ones with an immature intellect.
Most likely all the rifles are assembled crooked, some more then others. The fact that TI says the chinese are using a jig either TI isn't honest or the manufacturer just says that. Most likely the holes are punched out then the metal folded to create the receiver then assembled. Most workers have no idea that the flat plates are for a rifle receiver they are putting holes in. therefor they don't think it's important for them to align.
It would be great if a person with machining experience and calipers to measure and see on both sides how far the rivets are from a reference point and see how much difference is on both sides. i suspect it would be hard to measure and it might be very little but by the front of the barrel it is a lot.

There’s your pic. If you want the actual measurements in a vice to be that guy then sure, I will. Gnutz already did it. Anyway, if you know your way and how to throw lead you should be able to still have this range out if the barrels true. It’s a throw away to me so I’m going to let it eat the lead. Zhukov looks good as does the Sigmaco

Ordered Type 81M underfolder on March 25th, #293XX. On the 30th rec’d email stating status has moved to “Order Processing.” Based on what I’ve seen here, it’s a 6-8 day wait until it is trackable on CP. We’ll see

It doesn't look that badly bent to me. Have an image from the top of the rifle? Also when you look down the muzzle end with the rifle field stripped, is the hole in the rear of the receiver centered or off to one side or the other? I have a second shipment Type 81SA from years ago that is much more severely bent than yours, but yet I was still able to get it zero'd properly and it has NEVER malfunctioned. EVER. Plus I find the LMG type front sight to be much better for this sort of thing vs the drum and post of my rifle, as it's possible to adjust it as much as neccesary without making your sight picture really wonky.

You guys must have better eyes than me. I dont see a bend in picture.

I’ve heard stories of these and AK pattern rifles being cleaned with diesel fuel, it leaves behind a thin layer of lubricant.

That’s how the Afghan National Army preserved their AKs at the Kandak I worked with. Dipped in a barrel of diesel fuel and left to drip dry. Quick wipe down when issued.

Is the rear pistol grip supposed to have some play in it or is it supposed to be very tight? Mine wobbles and makes me worried. Tried tightening the screw and even reinstalling but still the same

You’re just jelly you can’t afford one.

I just do not understand how someone new to forum can post so many negative comments in such a short period of time and expect forum members to offer any respect.

Let's just be grateful these new owners had an opportunity to purchase and enjoy our sport with the offering. I for one wish this forum would remove the noise and just have posts that actually promote our hobby and provide factual data. Remember, if there is no picture it didn't happen....

lol you got me man, what can i say.
but i am surprised some of you guys on here are so determined to convince others it's ok bent.
I'm wondering why you guys get so upset at my comments about these rifles being garbage, why you guys are so fired up.
For example if i know something isn't true i don't even waste my time and just laugh. If someone says the sky is purple i just laugh and move on, I wouldn't get upset, try to shut that person down. Call names and throw a fit. I just wouldn't care to make an argument. But some of you guys are going mental, eaten up by what i say and act like children.
I figure I must be right and you are all just trying to convince yourselves not me, that your purchase wasn't garbage and the rifle you want to brag to your friends tho crooked you're still so cool, you're somebody, not some shmuck with a bent Chinese rifle. lol

Generally no. But its honestly an issue most Type 81s will suffer from at some point. Its essentially created by the bolt head slowly settling deeper and deeper into the grip.
Many owners swap to a non wood pistol grip to fix the issue.

+1 pics or it didn’t happen.

Or as an old professor told me, your unsubstantiated opinions only matter when you have a doctorate in the subject.

New old to the forum doesn't make a difference or like some other kids on here talking about no trader score or feedback, i don't care what that is or interested to find out.
I'm here to find out about the rifle, I'm interested why TI is doing nothing about and inconveniencing so manty people with all these defective rifles bent and missing parts. so many issues i would challenge anyone to go back and count how many issues just on this forum. i own firearms but i never heard of something like this, maybe you guys are used to it. it's messed up in my opinion. consider this situation with any other product, that would be a joke. but because we are limited in canada we are being taken advantage of. you ask all these people on here that received bent rifles how they feel, which now i bet are probably about 20 or so.
What negative comments? Comments you don't like to hear are negative? or the truth is negative right?
Reminder that is what a forum is for, i didn't see a check list that says I'm only to praise the sellers and no other discussion. Did you?

A fool to brush the crowd as one. You ran your mouth and yet you spew hollow words here. Shame on you.

You don’t know how to use a slingshot so you yell at the kid next door. Maybe one day you can own one and enjoy what’s left on the Canadian market, if your even from Canada..

lol disregard what that professor told you. Probably a commmie trying to tell you all to keep quiet only he will be telling you what you are to think he has a doctorate.
I'm also a professor at Conestoga College and i say you are allowed to have an opinion and you're free to voice your opinion we are still a free country.
if opinions hurt your feelings then your intellect has not matured. Stay home on UBI because someone somewhere might say something you might not like and there is no safe space
