It's a Rem 700 with a Benchmark barrel in .223 in a McMillan a5 stock. It's 18 lbs, heavy for tromping around in the snow. I've been using 69 gr sierra matchkings in it, although I'm wondering if I should try something else because the dog ran quite a way despite being shot through right behind the shoulders.
Or maybe I need to get better shot placement. The rifle is definitely capable of more precise shots.

V-max bullets tend to drop varmints where they stand. Buy some and see how they shoot. 58gr V-MAX in Superformance in my 243 drop coyotes at over 200 yards easily.
