I am in the market for a .22 revolver. I want it in stainless. SA or DA? euh, I guess I don't really care. I know the S&W 617 and the Ruger family. Do I have other choices? Probably... What do you suggest? Price is an issue, I don't want to pay more than 800-900$. Cheers,

Its hard to beat the S&W model 617. You can shoot it single action if you #### the hammer. Loading/unloading much faster than a SA since you have a swing out cylinder and ejector rod. Its easier to prove "safe" on the firing line by leaving the cylinder out.

The Ruger Single Six is a VERY fine .22 revolver and comes with a extra cylinder for for a quick and easy .22 mag conversion. I love S&W but I would also give the Ruger a good long look if I were you.
