597!
I LOVE MINE! Seriously! I like minebetter than my 10/22s.

Get ready for the flames!

I am with Jonny on Remington 597.
I bought my 597 brand new for $160.00 from LeBaron when they had a no tax sale event last year. The first time I brought it at the range I had a lot of disppointing jams with the first 300 round of my 597. I thought I bought a crappy cheap rifle, but as the round count goes higher... the rifle got better and better after a thousand round break in.... Since then, did not have jams as often in the last 3-bricks of Thunderbolts that went thru her. YES.... my 597 love to shoot the cheap $11.95 a brick thunderbolt 22 LR. I have gone thru the Yellow Jackets, Targets, CCI Stingers, Win Super Xs and Wildcats, but nothing compares to the tight grouping (1/2" small hole) using Thunderbolt from 50-yrds (Not bad for a semi-auto rifle).
YES, the 597 trigger is heavy, but for $32.00 US you can replace it with an after market trigger from Volquartsen, which should bring down the the 597 factory trigger pull from 8-9 lbs to a crispy 2.5-4 lbs. Also, if you want to customize the rifle using neat after market parts like R10/22, there's a lot of available after market makers south of the border like Volquartsen that makes custom parts for 597. YOu got more flexibility in customizing your rifle just like R10/22, which right now is not available for other rimfire rifle brands.

For the looks, price, quality, accuracy and performance and availability of custom parts...... I'd stick to my 597.

just my 2-cents :D :D

I like the looks of the Marlin Model 7000
Black synthetic stock, 18" heavy barrel, only 5.25 lbs.

I've had my 7000 for about 5-6 months now, but i've never really grown that fond of it. Trigger is heavy, and i've had a hard time getting it consistently accurate.

On the plus side, its small, light and FUN.

Going back out to the range next weekend to work on it a bit more, see if i can get it pokin' holes the way my 925 does.

22 semi auto

Oh yah the nylon 66 is a good way to go forsure as soon as you get used to it, it is an ideal gun but finding one isnt always easy.

Get a 597. I have 2!! both in .22 LR. a mossy oak camo syth... and a LSS. both very nice rifles, and good shooters. personally compared to any other .22 on the market(semi-auto), I think the 597 "shoulders" the best!

Remington 552 speedmaster. Nice crisp trigger, easy to load tube mag.

x 2 - an excellent rifle from what I've heard, and one I'm dying to get my hands on!

Accurate. Shoots short long long rifle in semiautomatic.

Let's see a 10/22 do that?

Mine is for sale in good condition for $275 in the EE

Wish I could find one...

Funny thing is though ive had marlin and a couple of others
before i bought a 10/22. Well i dont want anything else now.

I can see that happening, too!

In short, the Rem Speedmaster gets my vote. ;)

i have a marlin 70 that i am more than happy with (i guess the 7000 is the same but newer?). light, compact, accurate, and will cycle all lr ammo without a hiccup...i think i paid under $200 shipped as well

As I always say, Remington 597. Even with a couple thirty round magazines and one Vq part your still in the price range of a stock Ruger. Nice thing about the MB products mags is they don't require any messing aroung to get them feeding. Works with all ammo I have tried too, unlike the BC mags that didn't like anything but Blaser and Winchester wildcats.

Thompson Center R55 Benchmark or Benchmark Classic get my vote. Its what a 10/22 should have been, right out of the box. Heavy barrel, decent monte-carlo stock, light crisp trigger, last shot hold open.

brazilian cbc--nylon 66 copy---works as good as the original '66 and it is in black plastic, blue/black metal. shoots anything you put in it.
