All-New: Type 81M

FYI for orders not shipped in line:
-Some orders with problems such as PAL address mis-match, delayed payments are not able to proceed to next steps until fixed
-We temporarily had the AB warehouse run out of slings and slant brakes, there was a 7-14 day delay as we had to transfer more units to AB
-Some orders fell by the wayside, we have identified and marked for urgent processing
-Some orders had an internal label issue, this has been identified and marked for urgent processing

We understand it has been an unbearably long wait, but please understand this shipment is 4x larger then any previous T81 shipment. We were also not expecting such a strong response, especially after the lukewarm SR release and slow LMG sales, we were figuring the CAD market might have started to get it's fill for T81. Even if we did anticipate the response, hiring more staff for a short term spike doesn't make much sense from a business standpoint.

We are making solid progress, and estimate be fully caught up (ie no delay to newly placed orders) within the next 7-10 days. Thank-you all for your patience and understanding :)

Check your junkmail. Order status updates trigger automatic emails to clients

Junk folder is empty, spam folder is empty, and I'm using Gmail, so there shouldn't be any issues. Check your system so that your customers don't have to keep guessing what in the world is going on with their orders.

I understand the heavy amount of orders but I didnt order a sling nor a slant compensator recieved the rcmp transfer notice but still stuck on processing. I just wanna shoot it asap before going overseas

Don't worry. If the accessories were the hold-up they would know whether the hold-up was 7 or 14 days, not guess at it like in their recent post. They don't seem to know how long of a delay it caused, so the issue clearly lies elsewhere. It's also not clear why they couldn't eat the shipping for those customers by sending two packages from two different warehouse to the same address. Or why they couldn't transfer the accessories between the warehouses in advance of the rifle release.

Update
Got shipping notification today April 12th with tracking number.

All my dates are before you and I didn't get a shipping notification lol... No accessories added, order not modified... The agony. I'm really hoping I get something in the next day at this point otherwise I give up.

It's been a month since I purchased the rifle & accessories (Mar 12), still waiting on the OR threaded pins and sling ( no longer in stock) the threaded pins should've come together with the mount. Since it hasn't I'm worried your workers have forgotten the order . I purchased the mlok handguard (Apr 1) and made a note to please include the OR threaded pins and sling I've been patiently waiting for a pair of 20 dollar pins so I can put on my 200 dollars worth of rail system on the gun . It would be nice to get a little update from time to time lol

Got my March 15 order yesterday. Had a slant comp and extra mags added to order.

Everything seems straight, wood looks good, underhand guard looks good. Everything fits together well. Overall I am very happy with my underfolder.

There’s a few problems with your most recent post, TI. It does not take “7-14” days to transfer inventory that was sold as IN STOCK. This - from a business standpoint - is a huge oops on your part and should have been shipped separately at your own cost, or you should have highly expedited the warehouse transfer.

You then go on to say that you ordered FOUR TIMES more product than usual even though you expected a market slowdown? This makes no sense, as a business decision.

Then when the market sold you out of fixed variants nearly overnight, you don’t see fit to hire temp staff, to help free up your existing staff? How’s staff morale with existing workers? Low morale = low productivity = bad for business.

Yall are trying to be as cheap as possible and dropped the ball. You undervalue your customers. Plain and simple. When more than a few people are saying they’d rather pay a markup on EE/GP not to have to deal with you? That’s bad.

Think about this for a second. It would have cost you almost nothing to explain to each customer that their order was going to be delayed - better than nothing. You didn’t even do this.
Or you could pay an extra $20-30 per order to ship people’s accessories separately instead of pissing them off. Say this happened for 250 orders? That’s $6250 ($25x250) which could just as easily have covered an emergency shipment of mags, slings and brakes from warehouse to warehouse. Or approach every buyer with a delayed shipment and offer them in store credit, or a partial reimbursement or something. There’s so many low-cost ideas that would have made this go over smoother for customers.

You really don’t have a clue how much better you’d do as a company if you treated people the way you’d want to be treated.

Few thoughts about the "longer than usual" shipping times:

People need to realize, that the blame for this phenomena should rest squarely with our political system.

After the OIC announcements, if someone said that we will be able to get an AK-ish style rifle with and underfolder at a reasonable price some 3 years later, I would say that those people were nuts....and yet here we are.

First off..cudos to TI for being able to pull this off.

Second...all of you whining about how long it takes...what exactly are you comparing it with?
South of the border??
Large stock of Savage bolt guns at Cabela's, which nobody is really lining up for??

If so, then you need to realize, that in the US, people are not starving for that AK look...they can get it virtually anywhere and there are multiple distributors of these rifles.
This means that there are no stampedes to get them.

Here on the other hand, TI is the only enterprise that brings these in (as far as I'm aware) and when a shipment of something like this comes in, the ensuing mayhem is to be expected.

Sure some of you say "hire the extra staff"..etc.
But you need to realize, that the main purpose of any business is to generate profit.

Sure...assuming that TI could get past the hurdle of the un-easy task of finding and training the extra people for the shipping (and they did just that), they would likely need to hire hundreds of extra staff (assuming their warehouse can even accomodate them)...and for what?

They are already 100% guaranteed to sell every single one of these rifles, even if they only had just one guy shipping them out...sure it might take a couple of years, but they would sell them nevertheless..

Essentially this means, that any extra staff member that is temporarily hired only for the sole purpose of shipping them out faster, translates into less profit for TI.

I'm not in any way shape or form affiliated with TI, but I can completelly understand their logic of trying to find some type of a middle ground, where people still wait longer than usual, but in the end they will get something, that could only be described, as a Somali warlord on a moped type of a vibe, which was not really possible up till now.

Bottom line is, if I was in charge of the TI operation, I would not be as nice at they are.
I would tell everyone they have 2 options:

1) Your order will be ready when it's ready, regardless of time lapsed.

2) Feel free to get one elsewhere.

*mic drop*

Well said, couldn’t be better said or any simpler put. That’s the essence of reality. Just enjoy your rifles or move on.

Ordered a UF with 1 x slant brake and 2 x 5rd mags on March / 14. Received pick up card for postie on April / 4. Went into town for grub and booze and also picked up rifle with my weed order. Finally opened the box today and have no issues with the rifle. All strait and true / clean bore / no scratches etc. The only problem I could find is the bag with the cleaning brush and tool kit and the owners manual was in there upsidedown and caused me alot of stress and drama until I put it back in the right way! I was hoping to have no drama like others on here but noooooo!

Well done. Having worked in this industry previously.., one more thing - every time a customer emails the dealer asking for an update on your order it takes away manpower from processing and shipping orders.

I mean, how ca you even argue against that, well said CZ Shooter, and that's coming from me that I was starting to get impatient after almost a month, but what you describe is our sad reality and everyone is doing what they can with what they have. I hope TI keeps bringing cool guns and that our laws regulations relax enough to let us all law abiding citizens enjoy our hobby.

Thank you sir.
Most people are nowdays conditioned to get their stuff within a week of purchasing it and when that does not happen, it is usually followed by angry emails....but this is a unique situation which really has no parallel.

I think of this as a chance to get a "collector" type of an item, with slim chances of getting it elsewhere, unless I want to pay the scalper prices on GP.

With that being the case, I'm ok with having to wait for the extended period of time, as I do understand the reality of what is transpiring here..

I got in very early on the type 81 release. Got mine in approx 3 weeks and an order add on a day later and a problem with the info I gave on my pal.

I was really surprised it took three weeks. I was expecting month and a half to 2 months.

These guys are really busy.

Canada post left a pick up tag in my mailbox yesterday saying where to pick it up today. Went to the post office and they didn't have it. Says try monday. GRRRRR.
