Raffle Prizes and ticket information!:

Fundraising Raffle – Limited to 100 tickets at $10 each or 3 for $25.

First Prize - Re-chequering by Chris Dawe (Stillwater Restorations) value $300 to $800 depending on gun and chequering pattern, subject to approval during discussion by Chris Dawe.
Second Prize - Restored Vintage Axe by John Butler value $250
Third Prize - Custom made Dog Whistle by Claudio Opacak value $100.

Tickets are available starting now by contacting Canvasback (James Roblin jgroblin@gmail.com) either by PM or by email.

Tickets will also be available during the event (if not sold out by then).

When buying in advance your name and ticket number will be recorded on a sheet that will be available to view on the day of the Classic. I will not be mailing out tickets.

Draw will take place roughly 2:00 pm on Saturday June 1, during the event. If you can't attend and you win a prize, i will ensure it gets packed up and delivered to you via CP prepaid.

Funds raised will be entirely used to fund the costs of holding the 2024 UPDGC. Monies raised and not used this year will be held and applied to subsequent UCDGC events.

Because i am managing the raffle and the draw, I am officially disqualified from winning anything from the raffle.

Damn! I wanted all three! Laugh2

Huh! I was just thinking about this (because I'm making a prize!). In fact, I worked on the axe handle yesterday and a bit today, and got it mostly roughed out. Pics to follow.

Would the re-chequering prize be shotgun only or could be rifle.
Thanks Rob

I’ll check with Mr Dawe.

I checked. Rifle is fine, subject to the same discussion and confirmation with Mr Dawe. BTW the discussion and approval from Mr Dawe is simply to confirm the item in question is in the type of condition that will allow him to do his work. Obviously when things are not “new” that encompasses a huge variety of possible condition.

Well the news has been out not even two days and over 10% of the tickets have been sold. Thanks to those supporting the Upper Canada Classic and for the rest of you…….don’t leave it too late. Great odds on some great prizes and in support of a great day!

A couple pics of the axe with handle in progress. The head is a True Temper Black Prince made in St. Catherines, ON, in a wide Michigan pattern. 2 lbs, 13 oz. Still working on shaping the tongue, but the head will come down the hickory handle a further 3/4" or so. Still quite a bit of work to do on the head and of course a sheath or mask to make.

Now that’s awesome. I once made a replica of a Rapala fishing lure that was scaled exactly the same as a J18 but 6 1/2 feet long. I used a very old draw knife sharpened and refurbished by my father. Was surprised how quickly and efficiently it worked. I had to order 22 ought treble hooks to get size and the bill was made of 1 1/4” Lexan. I will try to dig out the pics of it.

No time like the present to get in on the action. A mere $25 gets you three chances at these three, handmade valuable prizes.

Big thank you to both Longstud and The Spank. At this rate we will be long sold out before the Classic on June 1.

If you are thinking about getting in on the draw, especially the idea of buying when you are at the Classic.....that might not work out for you. 30% have been purchased in the first week on sale and there are 6 1/2 more weeks till the event. So don't let much more time go by. Drop me a line and get your tickets while you still can.

Haha. Love the giant rapala!

James, I will take 6 tickets.

Huge shout out to Chris, John and Claudio. Very, very generous of you fellas to support the Upper Canada Double Gun Classic!

Would be fantastic to win one of these awesome prizes.

Thanks so much Patrick. None of this would be happening without your efforts to get the whole thing off the (frozen) ground! We all owe you a bunch. Cheers.

Very nice Longstud. Thank you!

I'm really glad some of you are recognizing the value in this. Great prizes and extremely good odds! Don't miss out! At this rate we will be sold out before the Classic. So don't wait, thinking you will be able to buy them on the day.

Well we had a pretty great week for raffle ticket sales. We have sold 72% in just three weeks and there is a little more than 4 weeks until the Classic.

Three great prizes up for grabs. Plus great odds for winning. Please don't wait, thinking you will get some on the day......it seems very likely we will be sold out.
