I am looking for a new carrier screw for an old Ithaca 37. Does anyone know of a Canadian distributor? I am thinking or restoring my grandfather's old deer slayer and might run into needing a couple other small things during the process.

Ithaca has no official presence here, not even a distributor. Best bet would be numrich. I don't know if western gun parts deals in Ithaca parts, and Prophet River has dealt with Ithaca in the past but i don't know the turnaround on small parts. The only other source I know of is a small shop in Port Colborne ON that Ron Sharpe, the leading Ithaca specialist in canada, bequeathed his inventory to when he fell ill. They did work on my 37T.

Numirch is your best bet for parts or even Western Gun Parts. Personally, I believe that the Ithica Model 37 is the Rolls Royce of pump shotguns. If you feel a little flush, you can always purchase a well used Ithica, for a low price, for parts.

Well shoot a mile.

When Prophet River disconnected from Ithaca, my previously mentioned gun store in Penticton took up with Ithaca.
Then, strangely something un-toward occured here.
Break in and thefts ???
Seems last time I checked, they dont sell firearms, but have a not insignificant selection of small Ithaca M37 parts that are still for sale.
Thats all in know from last year attempting to connect with them. They did not have the parts I wanted in stock.

They were hit with wide ranging charges, 'one count of illegally manufacturing or transferring a firearm', a second charge for offering to do the same thing again, and 'one count of improper storage of a firearm and one count of possessing a firearm knowing it had an altered, defaced or missing serial number'. No idea what came of the charges.

Thanks everyone! I completely forgot about Numrich, which seems like it might be the easiest bet. I have been wanting to get a few parts to fix up my grandpa's Mossberg 42 and Numrich has them all. It seems like exporting under $500 should be straight forward with them as well.

I agree! I inherited this one as a deer slayer slug gun which isn't useful at all on the west coast. I managed to find a nice mod choke bird barrel on the EE here a few years back and now I am hoping to give it some time in the field after a restore. It has some heavy pitting on the outside of the receiver that I might try to sand out or fill if I go the cerakote route.

Either way it should be a fun project and sentimental.

Is the serial number of the gun below 855,000 (i think somewhere around 1963)? 37's before that were hand fitted and the barrels are often not directly interchangeable. Certain deerslayer barrels were also pinned to the receiver and can't be changed at all.

Mine is above 855,000 and has a later barrel as well. It fits on nicely, I'm still going to take it by the local gunsmith to be 100% before I take it out though. Thanks for the heads-up.

What shop got the parts? Likely the best source if they got all of Ron Sharpe’s parts. He was even known in the US as a good source of old Ithaca parts.
