That's messed - did STI buy the rights to the Grand Power? They MUST be the same gun judging by the pics on the STI website.
Ahh... I guess that makes sense. Just seems like a rather odd direction for STI to take..
Sean at Freedom Ventures indicated to me that these guns would eventually make it to Canada, and that he would be distributing them.
Mine are coming in through the USA and there's been a delay getting them there due to paperwork and changes required to make them ATF legal. I figure I'll have some in my late April shipment.Has anyone heard or seen anything of these or know when they will be in-country ? C'mon Sean, no hiding![]()
Nope.Considering they are basically a Grand Power K100 , you could probably contact TSE about them![]()
Nope again. STI GP6s (and later the GP7) will only be available through STI Distributors.Or...go to the friendly link http://www.theshootingedge.com/
who already sell Grand Powers........
YES!!! And rather than reinvent the wheel, just partner with someone else and improve the wheel.STI dominates IPSC/USPSA Open and Standard/Limited Divisions, at least in North America. I'm guessing they wanted to get 'market share' for IPSC Production Division and IDPA Stock Service Pistol Division shooters.
Wrong again. STI has partnered with Grand Power to produce guns. They will distribute all Grand Power products, but they are also providing parts, expertise and advice on the new products.US distributor. No big deal. Same as many other situations like Remington/Baikals, Remington Russian made mausers, EAA Witness guns, etc
Mags are the same; same as CZ, Baby Eagle, and Tanfoglio mags too.The Grand Power and the STI GP6 have some slight differences. The changes were made for the pistol to qualify for importation into the US under the points system the US uses to evaluate pistols. My understanding, for the GP6, is the changes are in the grips and maybe the sights. The magazine may be different as well. I am not sure if the magazines interchange.
YES!!There was a post in the IPSC world forum about this. Other changes to the GP6 include STI tune ups to the hammer and action components. Pretty sure mags will be identical.

My apologies. I understand that the STi guns are in fact different from the regular Grand Power guns. It is indeed going to be nice to see STI putting efforts to develop the gun further.
I jumped the gun by saying that Grand Power is already available in Canada but neglected the fact that the STI versions are improved versions.
Are you also saying that STI has taken over distribution of Grand Power for all of North America, ie no more direct Grand Power products will be available any longer(TSE included)?
SRP $699Any clue what the price going to be?
Thanks
Freedom Ventures said:I shot one in France last year. I was very impressed at how the recoil reacted with the rotating barrel and how comfortable the grip design was. Trigger pull was nice and reset was small.
And before it's mentioned; yes - Glocks have dropped in price comparatively, but I can tell you definitively that any shooter that shoots a Glock now will shoot better with one of these. Anyone that starts with one of these will not be happy switching to a Glock. There's value in the price difference.
Wierd. My Grand Power K100 will not use CZ mags. The STI ones must be slightly different.
