Okay, so I'm convinced I "need" one of these rifles in my life, and I have a few questions for owners before the next shipment arrives on our shores (everyone seems to be currently sold out, and I refuse to pay the blood money some are asking at the orange site...It'll be dealer purchased.).

-Does IMI offer this rifle in 18"?

-Is there a good aftermarket solution for a rifle body extension that would shroud the barrel? Ideally, I should be able to rest the front of the gun on the body of the rifle rather than the barrel.

-How gassy is this rifle? I'm aware of a plate and gasket for the x95 off side ejection port, but nothing for the Tavor 7. Do shooters get a mouthful of soot after a mag or two?

-I don't believe the top rail is the same as the x95, will the x95 rail fit on the Tavor 7 so the ghostring and lum front post could be utilized on the Tavor 7?

The only real things that keep me hesitant are 1) parts availability, as Israel seems to have abandoned this platform. 2) ammo cost. .308 is expensive and I'm aware that military ball ammo (the ammo that would be prevalent and cheaper) has light strike issues with the thicker primers.

TIA, Painkillers.

There is a CDN business that brings in guns and parts from the USA, which is not a sponsor of this site and so cannot be named here. It rhymes with Asstech Armory.

They list loads of spare parts for the Tavor 7 and everything seems to be in stock.

There is a lightly used Tavor 7 listed on ####### for $3400, which is less than some of the major retailers are asking ... for rifles they do not have. If you want one, this would be the one to jump on right now.

Thanks but that's an x95, so it's at least $1,000.00 over priced. There are a couple used ones for north of $3,800.00, but that's retail...I'll just buy it from a dealer when they come in at that price and the scalpers can suck it.

Hammerhead forend is what you need. Also, pedestal bipod is amazing when shooting prone.

CRAP, sorry. Apparently I was overtired after coming home from work. Not sure why I thought that was a Tavor 7? :(.

I can tell you that dealer price on the X94 was $2400 for the last batch. No dealer is gonna sell for zero profit. Like it or not, the market price for X95 is a little over $3000 these days.

A Tavor 7 with 20 inch barrel goes for $2K in the US. I can't see why they should be more than $3K CAD here. I even saw one on the last batch for $2,850.

I paid $3199 for a new one and it was on sale in December.. so, probably no more new sub-$3k Tavor 7 going forward :(

Agree! If you check out most of the big dealers/stores you will see they are priced closer to $3500 BEFORE tax. And they are all out of stock. And when I ask around most people have no idea of a timeline when they will be back in stock again. They have better timelines on APC308s than they do Tavor 7s

Reciprocating bolt handle, 10 lbs, the size of it (huge), and the $8K price tag...I'd buy 2 Tavor 7's before one of these things.

haha. Neither is available anywhere in Canada so buying one APC308 or 2 Tavor's is really only possible through secondary market. So it won't be a decision you will have to make anytime soon!

T7 is a 3ish MOA gun. Not sure why you'd need a bipod, especially a wobbly mid mounted one. They're heavy and you're not in shape (if you say you are, you can and should do more) so keep that sucker light. As far as top rail and long forend options go, look at manticore arms. There are sponsors here who bring them in. I wanted the long forend until I shot it and calculated the weight penalty. I bought a magpul vert grip instead.

Nooooo, surely not? I know this was the claim of the x95 when it first came out, but it turns out whoever was making these claims simply wasn't used to the platform and just couldn't shoot it well. The x95 is a 2 moa rifle, and I'm told the T7 is more like a 1.5 moa rifle...which is fantastic for a battle rifle.

While the T7 is heavy at 9 lbs, it has to be taken into context. What does an AR10 weigh in at? What does an AR 10 w/ 20" barrel weigh in at?...the answer is about 9-10 lbs. One cannot fairly compare the weight of a patrol carbine to a battle rifle

BLK LBL bipod hand guard for the T7. The rests are just meh.

9lb T7 doesn’t feel like 9lb. It is well-balanced and not front end heavy.

The more research I do, the more I'm convinced this is the platform to get into .308 with. Those that don't like them seem to criticize the fact that it's a bullpup. Those who claim it can't shoot 1 moa, don't shoot bullpups.

No one can tell me when dealers are getting more though. Any idea? Normally these things come in cycles.

I have asked many many many dealers, and even the ones that get the hard to find stuff, have given me the same answer. No ETA. I even asked Irunguns and they didn't have an answer. Maybe next summer?
