T-7 range report update...she can shoot! There is still a lot that needs to be done. I'm convinced my scope mount is too low, and while the trigger is not bad, it could be better. Below is me pulling two rounds after stacking 3 on top of each other at 100m. Conservatively, this is a 2 MOA gun, but here's the bad news, I found that it will only shoot like this with a warm barrel which is a really bad deal for a hunting rifle. :(

I don't know why, but the rifle will print 2-3 MOA low, then will settle in after about 15 rounds fairly quickly shot, no cool down between strings.

If youre experiencing point of impact shift it dosent matter if your grouping was tight at some point. This is what I mean when I say *consistenly*. You cannot cherry pick wich string you want to keep for your data.

Has anyone tried doing load development for it? What kind of bullets does it prefer? I only had a chance to shoot either cheap bulk ammo or my reloads with cheap bulk bullets so far. I'll try some SMK 168 and 175 loads at some point, when I have more time..

I just quote post #70. You said yourself that its shooting low and that it need to be warm in order to become accurate. Isnt that the very definition of impact shift?

Sorry to report a tragic boating accident. While I was able to get the canoe righted again, and was uninjured, all my NR guns that are currently on the OIC list, rest in 300 ft of water.

It's a damn shame...mods, please nuke the thread. Nothin' to see here folks.

You have my deepest sympathies.

It has been a tragic year for boating accidents involving firearms with no sign of it coming to an end.

This thread makes me so sad now.... because of the tragic loss of my favourite rifle in a camp fire that got out of control. Tried to tell the kids to keep water nearby, but you know how it is.

Can't wait to explain to CBSA why my trigger was for a NR when it entered the mail system, but was prohibited a month later when their postal company decided not to work...
