This is why I don't discuss the Ukrainian war over here: too many putin's 304rs.

Talking about the shotguns. russia started supplying its infantry with shotguns a while ago.

Ukraine is way behind the process, which is on the volunteers' shoulders now. I paid for about 20 Mavericks 88 cruiser for the Ukrainian mobile groups but this definitely should be organized and supplied by MOD.

Forbes has something to say about it as well.

They need ROK Daewoo USAS-12 full-auto shotguns. 10 rd. detachable magazines, or even better, 20 rd. detachable rotary magazines for anti-drone duty.

Would an underslung shotgun attached to their M4 have more value? Main rifle would be heavier but more men would be armed with one. I guess there would be less capacity as well but damn I wouldnt want to have a platoon reliant on the one guy with the 12 gauge

What a revolution in war is happening in real time. Aircraft carriers and other capital ships may only have limited time before obsolescence

A master key setup would be ridiculous, what a way to turn a fighting rifle into a brick. The guys actually there are doing fine with things like a plain Mossberg 500. I could only imagine having something as stupid as a 15-17lb loaded USAS-12 to worry about in-between worrying about my much more useful rifle.

Would one of those bird collector nets work better then just a shotgun to stop the drones? Cast a wider area, maybe not so much distance , but would wrap the drone up so the thing couldn't fly .

Nets of any kind are staples for both sides. Our volunteer group just delivered 60 tons of fish net from GB to Ukraine last month.

I wouldn't ever trust my life to a Turkish made shotgun.

Even if its was reliable, being both a bullpup and box mag fed make it awkward for engaging aerial targets IMO.

Anyway.

Ukraine manufactures shotguns, including the Fort 500 tactical line, at least they did before 2022.

I wonder if production isn't enough to meet demand or if it ceased altogether?

the drones they have to actually kill people...are not dji fly Costco drones lol....you will never see or hear the killer drones coming, a shotgun? lmfao....that might be how to survive one actually, is the drone operator will be laughing so hard at someone thinking they could defend themselves from a military grade drone with any kind of gun....let alone a shotgun, once you see the footage of these things they actually have....you'll fully understand, wanna shoot down the neighbor kids play drones? shotgun should work fine lol, big clay pigeons lol....if the govt. sends one to hurt you though, you'd never have a clue

the anti-drone drone is more for taking out the Costco drones lol, it couldn't keep up to or catch the killer drones, it wouldn't even see them...but for like the perimeter of say Area 51 or other govt. places you know the civilians are going to constantly fack around to find out and send their Costco drones over to poke around....that's what this 'drone killer' drone is for ;)

it's sort of like an electric fence for govt. properties against the Costco drones...that's about it

You can buy a lot of DJI Mavic style commercial drones for the cost of one relatively cheap military drone like a Lancet or Baba Yaga.

Erik Prince has spoken many times about the use of cheap retail dji type drones dropping bombs on people in this war.

Why stupid? Fully loaded RPK is over 13 lbs. For anti-drone ops I'd take that USAS-12 over the RPK/AK if I saw a small drone about to drop ordnance on me, other troops. AKs don't have much success against small drones. One per unit, just like a GPMG. I'd trust 20 rds. of full auto 12 ga 00 Buck more than an AK. or just a 5-8 shot pump shotgun. YMMV.

Ditto. Buy once. cry once. Benelli M4/Mossberg 590A1 only please. You get what you pay for. Learned that a long, long, time ago. I was taught "When it comes to buying something important, always buy the very best if possible. You'll never be disappointed with quality goods. Only fools and the rich can afford to keep replacing inferior products." Wise words that I've always followed. No MIC/other places junk for me/mine. My slingshot is a Hammershot XT Slingbow HD Duo head ($136 CAD). Allows both shot and arrow hunting. Made in N.C., USA. Worth every dime.
