one of the best and best values in factory hunting ammo going, my new sako 308 didn't like the 150 or 165 but it really likes the 180, may find out one day what it can do also, it also really liked 168 eldm so I have both on hand just in case, just one deer on the eldm so far, great photo's and looks to be perfect performance

Great performance and congrats on a great looking bear!

Can anyone confirm if the fusions are loaded with some type of Speer bullet?

I had heard it's a speer hot cor. Let's be honest, normal cup n core are fine for 90% of hunting. If I was spending weeks and $4k in fuel to go north, shooting a hyper speed magnum, or typical shots are long range, i would want a premium.

I heard it was Speer deep curl? I thought the hot cor was debunked as a bonded?

The closest commercial offering that is readily available would be their (Speer's) gold dot bullets. Federal briefly sold the fusions as a component bullet for a while but managed to omit some of their best offerings, haven't seen any of the fusions, the components not loaded ammo, available in at least 2 years. Unfortunately Speer markets the gold dots as a defensive round and only select diameters also loading data for many traditional hunting rounds is hard to find.

I really hope federal brings back the fusion components and adds a couple offerings, in particular the lack of a 6mm component was a glaring mistake in my opinion.

Fusion is a gold dot which is a new name for the deep curl. It’s a copper plated bullet. Hot core is a normal jacket with a molten core poured in.

Fusions work great and the price is right. A friend of mine has filled an ark with the 150gr 7mm rem mag variety

The consistency they get out of the plating process has also been pretty good for accuracy, I've had very good results with the bullet in several cartridges.

There's a new "tipped" option available as well. I wish I could get a few boxes of the 175gr 7mm bullet.

I was using the 140 Fusion in my 7mm08. Shot good, killed even better. But then I couldn't find the damn component bullets and ended up having to switch. Lucky me, I switched to Partitions right before the prices for Nosler bullets went retarded. I bought 3 boxes so I should be good for a few years but I'll probably have to change things up again once I get through these boxes, because I'm certainly not paying current prices for my next boxes.
