It's an adapter for a regular SKS that uses a 5 shot magazine, instead of the non removable magazine it comes with.

They don't ship to canada, but I would love one of these. Anyone know where I can pick one of these up in canada? I wanted the SKS-D but those seem to be rarer than hen's teeth...for the last 2 years I have tried to bid on every one of them that came up for sale (except the ones with the dragunov stocks) but they seem to sell within seconds of being posted up...so I have the type 56 and the only thing I wish was different was the removable mags.

Worst mag ever.

Seriously save your money and get something else.

Had this happen to me also with 2 of their mags...Gave away one to the fellow above, and sold the other.

i concur...stay away from the after market mags made of metal.

try the vinyl 5 rds one, i found them very reliable but cant vouch for durability.

Was your reason for wanting this set up so you can do quick mag changes and spew lead all over?? Or just gotta have it cause its purty/don't need a reason. If its reason #1, there's a few posts on modifying the 10 shot stripper clips to 5 shots, and you can reload like there's no tomorrow. If it #2, I can't help you. Good luck. :)

nope, still got it, i havent had time to work on it but i will eventally get to it some day, so the longer it takes me , the more i can remind you for selling me a dud. :D:D:D

Methinks the problem lies with the fact that the mag follower is weak plastic, that seems to grip the bolt as it passes over.
It would be interesting to make a new mag follower out of metal and see what that does.

If you get sick of it, sell it back to me, and I'll see if a guy I know in sheet metal work can tackle it.

i also think its the plastic follower so i screwed a perfectly good FNC1 7.62x51mm follower trying to make it fit , the FNC1 metal follower was was too brittle.

thanks for the offer to take it back but i rather keep it and bug you...:p:p
