Hi all,

I have Browning hard case for, I believe, a single barrelled semi or pump shotgun. Unfortunately, the keys are missing. I contacted Browning with photos, and was promptly sent a set of keys that, unfortunately, do not fit the locks. My research indicates that a particular "standard" luggage key marked #71 should work. Before I go tracking one down, I'm hoping someone might have a similar vintage/style of Browning case and could post a closeup picture of the key so that I know what to look for?

Much appreciated!

Do what I did and take the case to a specialty luggage store. They will likely have a supply of spares and alternates, luggage locks are very simple.

I have a box full of gun case keys, but I no longer have a Browning case to test them in. Most have two lugs on them, even though only one usually goes into the mechanism.

I have the exact case. Stand by…

Thanks very much! The keys Browning sent me sort of work in that if I angle them in I can get one of the locks to engage. The Atco label is what I have read is the proper marking for the keys, so I'm going to give a try at cutting my keys --- it's almost like they were blanks.

Otherwise, having that picture and the advice to take it down to a luggage shop will be my next step.

Thanks everyone for the advice!

Awesome. Hope it helps.

I have a similar lock on a different case. Just one lobe on key, very basic. I need to turn clockwise to lock and unlock and the key has to be in FULLY.

looks like the same locks on my briefcase, and most others
I would think the keys browning sent are correct, just have to be cut
But without your case ,not much we can do . I will have a look later, I have a box of keys, bed time now.

OP, I have that case with key #71 on one side of key and USA Excelsior Stamford CONN. on other side.
key looks like the same
Hello, I'm a newbie here and would be interested in that key if you still have it. I'm in Nanaimo and recently acquired a browning case.
I haven't figured out the messaging system yet and sent another reply to your most recent post.

I don't know how to post pictures yet but I've posted a picture of what I'm looking for on Gun Post under cases and storage under the locks section. If you are a member there Ive posted two pictures.

Thanks in advance, Rob in Nanaimo.
