Want sights for an HP9, Wilson Combat will install...

Don't bother sending it to the US. For one, I don't think you can. Two, there is a better option in Canada.

Send a PM to ArwenAce.. (edit- he owns tacord.com as explained above) He is set up to supply and install these sights, and he does it all the time. EXCELLENT prices and top-notch work.
 
Does anyone know if the wilson sights have enough vetical adjustment for use with a 12.5 inch barrel?

Also aproximately how much are the Wilson sights installed by Tac Ord?
 
I don't think you can send a HP9 to the states because it has a 14" barrel which is below the legal limit and the gun is considered a National Firearms act restricted weapon therefore it is controlled by the ATF.

No, they are calssed as an MG and require a $200 tax stamp everytime it's transfered. They are prohibited otherwise.
 
Thanks. I will email the company and find out what the sights cost. It's sort of proving true, if I'd spent more money up front or waited a bit I'd have a shotgun that doesn't blow it's front sights off at inopportune times.

REPete technically I think they're AOWs, but I wasn't sure if I could get a permit for work to be done it all.

I'll also email TO and ask if they honour the same warranty WC would give on sights they installed. Wilson will do it for $65 on top of purchase price of sights, not bad IMO, including drilling the receiver.

Also I guess the LPA sights are nice, but I've seen it suggested that a winged front sight could be confusing in the dark, you don't want to sight on a wing by accident, KISS. Plus Wilson has tritium front and rear for $130.

The barrel is not classed as an MG, it isnt classed at all. Short shotguns are SBS, not machineguns, they do require the tax stamp, short rifles are SBR's for future reference.

While the barrel isnt a controlled item for the tax stamp, it is against import export laws in the USA to have such short barrels crossing the border.

Technicalities, but you get the idea.

Anything with a barrel length less than 16", in the US, requires the tax stamp including shotguns.

Shotguns with a barrel below 18" are considered aow's only if they come from the factory with a pistol grip which means you can't put a full stock on them.
If they have a full or adjustable/folding stock then they are SBS's or short-barreled-shotguns and require NFA clearance and a 200$ tax stamp.
