Top price for a whole one has been $20. You have to remember at the fur auctions they are skinned,fleshed,stretched,dried,sewn,washed and combed before they are sold and lately only large prime has been selling or about 30% of the coyotes offered.

Everyone should hold back their pelts to try to get the price up. We are sitting on 18 that we got this year so far.
Id say that one goes about 83#.

We should but it would take a couple years for the surplus to clear up. Its the chinese that are hurting the market as they are having labeling issues and aren't buying anymore.

Gyman,I trapped for many years...you don't really need to explain the process to me.that said though,i guess $20 in the round ain't bad?Looking at it from a country buyer's perspective,even $20 is a bit of a gamble?However,the western yotes that did sell at NAFA avg'd $44(?) with the top lot in the $80 range.I guess for the relatively few yotes I get I don't mind putting them up myself and waiting for the money?

There's nothing wrong with holding onto a few and hoping for a price increase, I have a few in my deep freeze to that I thought were nice prime coyotes and decided to skin and keep them.
