What do you use to transport Pistols?

The gun doesn't work because I am not 12 classed, but it gets people to move over.

Soon in Ontario--the requirement to obtain and use a vehicle with the same specs as a Brinks armored truck
Slightly off topic , but where do used ARMORED TRUCKS GO? You never see them up for sale, the companies get new ones, so where do the old ones go? I have always thought they are junked so they can't be used by a competitor, or maybe sold to third world countries.

yes you do you see them for sale once in a while particualry in the U.S
they are not a high turn over vehicle

If someone needs custom cases, I have a supplier that I use for my robots.

we manufactures cases using plywood laminated with ABS, fiberglass and aluminum. We offer a TIG welded rigidized aluminum material in a variety of weights, and we distribute injection molded plastic cases from both Platt Luggage Company and SKB

they will put on any handles, latches, etc you want.
You can even get wheels and pull out handles

BTW thecase I use 14x12x12 ges for about $160 which isvery reasonable for a custome case. The insidecan be customized too

I like the custom "paddle" case

I have recently started using the case my Kimber came in. I can hold two pistols in it, and I really like the integral latch/lock, instead of some flimsy lock loop.

Lockable Pelican case with pick-n-pluck foam. Picked and plucked for the shape of the pistols inside.

Pistols are also trigger locked.

As required by law, but I'd probably do it anyways for safety.

I use a Pelican case Model 1500, it's roughly 18 x12 x 6 with a solid handle and 2 lockable closing tabs. Got it on eBay reasonably cheap.

As other having done, you can pluck out the foam to suit however you wish to nest your firearms.

My pistols are trigger locked, the case is locked and it goes in the locked trunk. No stops between home and the range unless I need ammo.

I carry copies of my registrations and ATT should I ever have to prove they're legally mine, etc. I stuff them behind the foam on the top.... good place to transport your paper targets too within having them all messed up.

I picked up a briefcase that is part chrome steel and polymer (its looks like an aluminum case) with pretty decent combination locks. I used left over foam padding from my wife's new Dell laptop too line the insides. It holds my two glocks and my Ruger SBH 7.5" with room to spare (trigger locks).

Hehe, geez, once again I'm on the bottom part of the curve. I put a padlock through the glock, put it in the glock case it came in, then put another padlock around the handle of the case. Other than running in for a coffee, or when I'm at the rifle area of the range, it's never unattended in the car. So as long as it's double locked I figure I'm legal. Honestly, what does the gov't think my unloaded gun is going to do if I only had one lock on it?

Yeah. If someone's got the drive to get through your first lock, I doubt a wimpy little trigger lock is gonna do anything to stop them.

I do something similar: padlock for the case my Steyr was shipped in, but instead of a trigger lock (although I do have one) I use the built-in disabling lock.

Do people prefer fruit of the loom or Calvin Klein for transporting their pistols? :p

If your talking about CCW in a sensitive area you better use tough Canadian Stanfields from down east:)

I used to take 5-6 handguns with me but after spending half the night cleaning I just take 1 or 2 now in rotation and put them trigger locked in pistol rugs in my range bag with holsters, magholders, tools, paperwork etc. Other small range bag with ammo & loaded mags. Each bag has zippers with a space for a small padlock to go through and attach to a metal tab at end of the bag. Oh yeah, a bit of black cloth tape over the large S&W logo from the promo range bag I got from my 686 purchase last year just so the neighbors won't get jealous of how I spend my weekends:) Also the lock business is to keep kids out and to be in compliance with the law.

I have a medium-sized "Cash In Transit" metal briefcase that I happened across one day, it perfectly fit my 17" widescreen laptop. I also use it for transporting my pistols.

I come across these types of security briefcases once in a while, where the courier/company has the lost the key and needs the items out, and then think the case is garbage since the only way to get into these types of locks usually requires damaging them. But I slapped a new Abloy lock on one and it was good to go... I recently happened to be doing a job for a guy who works with foam, and he made me a custom insert for the case that fits my 3 pistols down to the mm, plus 4 boxes of ammo and 4-6 mags (or speedloaders), my stapler & refills and there's still room for my paperwork and a few pairs of loaner earplugs and loaner shooting glasses. It's quite a good set up, I can take the foam out when I need to travel with my laptop. If I ever expand my pistol collection, I should have no trouble finding another case and having an insert made for it.

...Is there a better way of transporting 10+ toys?...

10+???? Must be nice to have the time and/or ammo to shoot 10+ guns in one outing. Most I've ever taken is 4 and still didn't have time to shoot them all. :(

For that many, why not just spend $15-20 for a rifle case. I can get 4 in with one of my AR's so it should hold 10 handguns.
