Hi, I got this reloading data from Hodgdon,it only shows the Maximum Load (50.1 gr.), but no data of the starting load, so what starting load would you recommend? Thank you!
Bullet Weight (Gr.)-----Powder-----Bullet Diam.-----C.O.L.-----Grs.-----Vel. (ft/s)-----Pressure
150 GR. SP-----winchester 760-----.308"-----2.800"-----50.1-----2700-----40,500 CUP

Got it... I may try going up by one grain increases. Thanks a lot for the help :)

No problem, glad if I can help out. Do you already have the Win 760 powder? Just my opinion, but it seems a little slow for a 308 with a 150 gr bullet. Something with a little quicker burn rate like Win 748 might be a little better choice.

i'd tend to agree- my manuals don't even siggest 760 until you get to 165 grain and better- even then 748 is still a better choice- my fav load for 308 is a 180 grain, 44 grains of 748- worked well for 30+ years

Actually I went to lebaron to buy win 748, but they didn't have it in stock, so I bought the Win 760. I'll try how it works.

Thanks, I hope I can find the 748 in our local stores, I will try this formula.

You might have some success ? but if not ,try working with these proven powders in .308 win: IMR 4895,H4895,Varget,4064,H380 and there are some Vihtavouri powders that are good as well
let us all know how the 760 worked

Thanks. It's cold here, high is -15 degree today. I'm planning a range day this Saturday... I need a warm current please

I checked a few of my manuals and found as others have stated that win 760is usually for 165 gr and higher weights due to its slower burn rate.my one manual has a min of 47 gr @2581fps and a high of 51 grs.@2800 fps.for 150 gr.bullets
If your usually using WIN 748 the manual says your usual fps will range between 2750-3000 fps min to max. This will probably affect your point of impact subsantially . Hope this helps .
