Hi all! I picked up a Remington 11-48 20ga and it doesn’t eject, spent a few minutes trying to google what the ejector on these is supposed to look like (I’m thinking mine must be broken or wore out) and can’t find much info.

Does anyone have a picture of what the ejector should look like on one of these 11-48s?

Thanks in advance!

The 11 48 is a recoiling barrel system if I remember correctly... much the same as a Browning Auto Five. ...it ejects when the fully recoiled barrel slams forward... the tube may need some lubricant so move freely... light white lithium grease... the friction may also be set for heavy loads and you may be using light loads...

You can take a fired shell, chamber it, then put the shotgun butt on the floor, with two hands compress the barrel full to the rear, then quickly release the barrel. It should slam forward and eject that fired shell.

Go to a gun store that has a knowledgeable man on the counter and get him to show you...

Well I feel like a bit of a dummy now considering it’s sitting in my safe right beside my Auto 5 magnum 20 🤣 I did no research on the 11-48 whatsoever, got it an hour ago and figured I’d test fire it off my front porch lol

Remington made the 11-48 in .410 as well... the recoil spring was so light for that to operate you had to wait 1/2 a second or so for it to cycle and load the next shell... I shot some skeet with one... doubles were difficult with that delay so it was important to shoot the first bird very quickly Good old guns though..

That one took a minute to find, Belgium made in excellent original condition with the original barrel and a Japanese barrel with invector chokes 😍
