Chiappa tac pump "extra" part ID please

Hi guys, Got a little Turk Chiappa pump from a member recently. It has an aftermarket forward sling swivel mounted on the mag tube under the cap. When I took it apart for a first clean, this part appeared on the bench having fallen out of/ off the mag tube assembly. Any ideas what it is? Machined steel. Spacer? I've looked at numerous disassembly vids and this part don't make an appearance. Cap shown for size comparison.

I’m not sure which shotgun you have but some manufactures use a snap ring to secure a sling plate in place. Is there groove on the magazine cap?

I’ve never come across a snap ring on tube magazine before. Did you try to thread the mag cap back on with out it? That way you can see if there is a gap where a spacer might have been used.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, when I threaded the mag cap back on there was a bit of play with the swivel which was not there before. So I put the "spacer" back in and it seems fine. It just seems oddly shaped and machined with two holes, too fancy for what really just needs a washer. Maybe a bubba'd deal as the gun has a bit of that! Nice little package overall with sling, shell card, removable choke and a two shot mag extension included.

Snap ring, and it's stretched (wrong size for whatever it was retaining).
