SIR will be getting a shipment of russian SKS (qty 250) and they are taking orders, i ordered 2 this morning at $165.99 each. they are from russian in very good condition.

Back by popular demand, these surplus rifles feature 5 shot top feed magazine with hinged floor plate. 20” barrel with folding bayonet. Very Good condition. Produced in Russia. 7.62 X 39mm Caliber.

please dont tell me there is more new source of russian SKS to come at even lower price then SIR.:eek: how am i gonna pay for them all?

i just spoke to marlin at frontier to ask him if he was aware of SIR price of $166 and he said he wasnt aware so if he doesnt lower his price then at least i can cancel my order with him .

Well.... I just placed my order. I hope they are VG condition like they say and not junk. Excellent price for a russian (SKS that is!) We'll see when it arrives.
 
Just ordered mine as well. Now comes the waiting for Christmas syndrome. I hope they are as advertised "vg condition". I bought a Russian SKS about 18 yrs ago.
True milsurp, well used and battle scarred, but in good working condition.

I am curious, is the SKS a good shooter? Was it a service rifle?

The only time I ever handled one was during my PAL course and I liked it...and for that price....

I KNEW I should have bought a larger Gun safe!!

I would personnaly consider it a decent shooter, not a marksman rifle
The one I had (Yugo and Norinco) were ok, but it's not sub MOA...
It's cheap, ammo is even cheaper, nice caliber for hunting (up to deer)

And it's not restricted!
