Kimber SIS

Read an article on in them in a gun rag, then fondled it in person at the Shotshow. The slide serrations, if you can even call them that SUCK!! The little fancy S curves with the Kimber paint job make them extremely slippery. I picked it tried to pull back slide hand slipped off tried it again slipped off. I verified that the safety was off and tried again using the front site as a point of leverage and got the slide back. Standard slide serations on a 1911 are sharp and close together for a reason. I don't know what Kimber was thinking when they did the slide serrations like that.

They are listed on the Wholesale website but as this is a 2008 new model it is highly unlikely that they have any in stock.

I agree, I think kimber went form over function this time, maybe they were designed to be used in conjunction with gloves? I dunno. I was about to buy a pro carry sis (4in) but when I saw the Ultra RCPII I had to have that instead... but I'll end up getting a SIS just cuz they are ###y, and I since I have a 5in and a 3inch I think its a must to have a 4 inch to have all the sizes :D

Smooth skin surface and curves are for the women in our lives, not for gun serrations ;) ... and especially not for a gun marketed for 'tactical' police units. :dancingbanana:
